Forest Bigfoot

Bigfoot From Behind
With so many different species of animal found all around the world, it is no wonder that there are so many tales and stories of animals that have been put down to being simply legends, but are they? Here we will continue to look at mythical creatures from around the world next up is Bigfoot...

Bigfoot, also known as the Sasquatch is a giant ape-like creature that is said to inhabit the forest and mountainous regions of Northwest America. Bigfoot is normally described as being enormous (around 10ft tall), very hairy and almost human-like in the way bigfoot travels on two legs rather than the usual four, like many of the primate species around the world and is often thought to be similar to the Yeti found in Nepal.

The stories about bigfoot began in the early 20th century, and are thought to have originated from tales of supernatural creatures known to the Native Americans as skoocooms, that were a race of wild men that lived on Mount St Helens. Today scientists believe that the sightings of bigfoot are due to a combination of hoaxes and misinterpretation, as many sightings of bigfoot are generally thought to have been of large bears.
