North Shore Senior High School includes grades 9 through 12 on three campuses and is the Galena Park Independent School District. The school initially opened as a 10th-12th Grade Campus in 1962. A new larger campus opened slightly over a mile away in 1999, immediately welcoming grades 11 and 12. Then, in 2008, grade 10 also moved over to the newer campus. This made the original location that opened in 1962 specifically for grade 9 and became known as the North Shore 9th Grade Center. Their mascot is the Mustangs “Thunder,” and they offer plenty of athletic opportunities to their students.
