While both hotels and resorts provide short-term lodging and sleep accommodations, resorts are favored vacation destinations because of the other amenities they offer. For instance, in Wisconsin, there are many waterpark or spa resorts that the whole family can enjoy. Here are the seven largest resorts in Wisconsin for your next getaway.

1. The Wilderness Resort

With four outdoor and four indoor waterparks, your family can experience one of the largest resorts in Wisconsin during the summer or winter.

Located on 600 acres of woodland in Wisconsin Dells, the Wilderness Resort has several different properties to enjoy. The Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort has 444 guest rooms, 40 vacation villas, 76 frontier condominiums, and 35 cabins. Many of the cabins sleep up to 20 people, so it’s a great destination for a family reunion. This location also has four indoor and four outdoor waterparks, giving the Wilderness Resort the title of largest waterpark resort in America.

Another option is Wilderness on the Lake, which offers 108 condominiums located by Lake Delton. The condominiums can be two or three bedrooms in size, and the property has its own private beach. Plus, you can catch the shuttle to the Wilderness Hotel to enjoy all of those indoor and outdoor waterparks.

Lastly, you can choose to stay at the Glacier Canyon Lodge and select one of 460 condominium units.

Counting all of the waterparks at the Wilderness Resort, that’s nearly 500,000 square feet dedicated solely to water rides. That’s about the size of 12 football fields!

Besides the waterparks, the Wilderness Resort also offers a golf club and 9-hole short course, indoor/outdoor go-karts, a canopy zip line tour, and a sky ropes course, which you can travel over the mega arcade at the Wilderness Resort. With these attractions and so much more, this is the largest resort to visit in Wisconsin.

2. Kalahari Resorts and Conventions

With locations in four different states, the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells is one of the biggest. It has 765 guest rooms complemented by a 230,000-square-foot convention center. As the second-largest resort in the state, it is a popular place to book conferences and conventions.

The Wisconsin Dells Kalahari Resort also held the title for largest indoor waterpark until its sister location in Sandusky, Ohio, finished the waterpark expansion in 2007. But, the Dells Kalahari Resort is still the first hotel with an indoor uphill water coaster.

Wisconsin Dells Kalahari also has a 77,000-square-foot outdoor waterpark and a 110,000-square-foot indoor theme park. With all of these amenities, it’s no wonder that the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells is the second largest resort in Wisconsin.

3. Chula Vista Resort & Conference Center

The incredible water playground is one of the largest in Wisconsin Dells.

Another favored destination for conferences and conventions is the Chula Vista Resort. Joining in the competitive spirit of waterparks, Chula Vista has 200,000 square feet dedicated to indoor and outdoor waterparks. Even some of their 27 waterslides extend over one and a half miles long. Located in Wisconsin Dells, which seems to be a hot spot for big waterpark resorts, Chula Vista Resort has 600 guest rooms along with villas and condominiums that can accommodate up to 14 people.

Besides the waterpark experience, Chula Vista has golf, mini-golf, a 4D theater, and the Spa Del Sol spa, which is just up the road from the resort. At Spa Del Sol, you may indulge in one of their massage packages or book a body treatment to rejuvenate your body and mind. The facials are relaxing as well!
