The Republic of Chad is a landlocked country in North-Central Africa bordered by Libya, Sudan, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. Located on the country’s southwestern border, N’Djamena is the capital city. Chad’s total population is 18 million, and its land area is 496,000 square miles.

This island country lies at the confluence of the Northern Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s the second most populous country in the Caribbean, with a population of 11 million and a land area of 42,426 square miles. Havana is the capital city and the primary seaport of Cuba, which is located on the western part of the island.

Located in the South Pacific Ocean, Fiji is perhaps the prettiest four-letter country. This archipelago contains more than 300 islands. Its two main islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, which is where the capital port city of Suva is located. Fiji has a population of 936,375 people and a total land area of 7,056 square miles.

4. Iran

Iran is the most populous city in West Asia.


The Islamic Republic of Iran is a West Asian country bordered by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Iraq. It also lies on the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman. Tehran is the capital of Iran and is the most populous city in Western Asia. Iran has a total population of 89 million, and its land area is 636,400 square miles.

Located in the Middle East, Iraq is one of the easternmost countries of the Arab world. The country borders Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. Baghdad is Iraq’s capital and largest city. The country features a population of 43 million and a total land area of 169,234 square miles.

The country of Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia and shares borders with China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar. The country’s capital is Vientiane, located in the northern region along the Mekong River. As of 2023, this four-letter country has a population of 7.5 million and a total land area of 91,429 square miles.

This landlocked country in West Asia is the eighth largest on the continent and borders Algeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Mauritania. The capital of Mali is Bamako and it’s along the Niger River. This country features a total population of 23 million and has a land area of 478,849 square miles.

The Sultanate of Oman is a West Asian country on the Arabian Peninsula’s southeastern coast and spans the mouth of the Persian Gulf. Oman shares borders with Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Oman’s capital is Muscat, which sits on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. It’s a port capital surrounded by desert and mountains. The country has a total population of 4.6 million and a land area of 119,499 square miles.

The country of Peru is in South America, where it’s home to Machu Picchu and part of the Amazon Rainforest. Along with the Pacific Ocean to the west, Peru borders Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and Bolivia. Peru’s capital and commercial and industrial center is Lima. You will find it on Rimac River’s south bank. This country has a total population of 34 million and a land area of 496,171 square miles.  

10. Togo

The Togolese Republic, or Togo, is a West African nation on the Gulf of Guinea. Along with the Gulf, Togo shares borders with Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Benin. This sub-Saharan country has a population of 8.6 million and a land area of 21,925 square miles. Lome is the capital of Togo, which sits along the Atlantic coast on the Gulf of Guinea. It is an important transport and commercial center.
