One Wolverine Fights Two Wolves, Then Saunters Away Casually

In the wild, you never know what will happen. As you would expect, animals attack each other to stay alive. The food pyramid looks a bit different for wild animals than it does for humans. One thing is for sure – you can expect the unexpected.

Wolves are adaptable. They examine their prey, searching for any areas of weakness or susceptibility using visual signals, sound, and even smell. Wolves are stamina or coursing predators, as opposed to ambush predators, which use the advantage of surprise and a brief, powerful burst of energy to capture their victim. 

To locate the appropriate species or opportunity, they frequently pursue their prey over greater distances, sometimes even over a few miles. When hunting, wolves cooperate with specific individuals usually playing their designated roles, which are frequently determined by size, gender, and social position.

A video on YouTube shows an intense, yet entertaining interaction between two wolves and a lone wolverine. On any other day, these two wolves would’ve been able to easily take down the wolverine who is much smaller than the pair. 

As you watch the video, you’ll notice it almost looks like the three animals are playing with one another. In reality, the two wolves are attempting to corner the wolverine in order to attack it. The wolverine isn’t going down without a fight – in fact, he isn’t going down at all! 

Outwit and Outsmart

The wolverine is known for having strength and toughness beyond its size and is willing to take on prey that is much bigger than it. Numerous accounts of the ferocity of wolverines attest to their incredible endurance and determination in the face of what appear to be insurmountable obstacles, whether protecting food they have killed or acquired for themselves or seeking to steal it from another predator.

It’s safe to say, these two wolves never stood a chance against the determination of a ferocious wolverine. Easily the best part of the video is when the wolverine casually walks away from the wolves. He doesn’t run and hide, he just simply walks. 

Although it is a nocturnal animal, the wolverine can be awake at any time of day. The wolverine is not only a terrific climber and runner but also a great swimmer. The snowy climate in the footage shows just how adaptive these animals can be. What other creatures do you think could survive two wolves?
