See the 2 Most Breathtaking Shark Attack Videos

A shark attack is always breathtaking, whether you’re in the water witnessing it firsthand or sitting at home, behind your phone or laptop taking in the scene. A news station covered this first clip. They highlight the day a shark attacked a man off of Pensacola, Florida.

You can hear the terrified screams of Chad Patti, the man in the water, who has just experienced an attack by a shark beneath the surface. The water muffles his screams as he splashes about but you catch a glimpse of the nearby boat and his buddy on board. You can make out that he screams, “Help!”

The shark hit him so hard, it knocked the speargun out of his hand. It also didn’t miss the opportunity to take a bite out of his fin. His buddy jumps straight into the water as others on board reach out to help him on board. Josh Loucks is his friend who dove in when he heard him struggling.

They have a sense of humor about it, as Loucks tells the news station, “Chad got chomped.”

This next video is from Bondi Rescue, a YouTube channel that follows an elite team of lifeguards on Australia’s busiest beach. Although these lifeguards are well-trained to keep their eye on what’s going on above water, what happens beneath is certainly more shadowy.

To learn more about what lurks beneath, they go underwater diving with experts to explore. This is a full episode, so you watch a few encounters the Bondi Rescue team has with swimmers out on the water. They rescue a group of men and keep their eyes out after shark sightings. They’ve managed to clear the area, but a man is swimming a bit further out.

To keep him safe, they go out on a jet ski and bring him to shore. Shark attacks are most likely to happen during dawn and dusk, and the sun has already started to set on this day. Since there have been so many shark sightings, the lifeguards decide to take a look around the netting meant to deter them to see if any might be lingering.

Later in the season, a helicopter spots a shark near a huge school of fish. The shark is in the surf zone, spots a surfer, and swims directly toward him. Luckily, that surfer gets away unscathed. The team has been alert but one evening, after they pack up for the day, a local surfer meets an unfortunate fate. Watch to learn what happens next.
