Terrifying Security Camera Footage Captures a Hostile Crocodile Attacking a Couple in Their Pool

What kind of animals might you expect to see in your pool? Well, nothing more than maybe a little dinosaur floaty you might have in your pool. We typically would not expect to see any animals in our pools. However, if we had to choose, we might see some insect, perhaps a lizard; goodness, even one of our A-Z writers had a squirrel in her pool one time. 

However, a crocodile? Talk about a nightmare! For this one couple going out for a midnight swim, their nightmare is about to come to life. This video posted below shows a couple enjoying their midnight swim. They are close together at the corner of the pool. They are completely oblivious to what their surroundings are.

If we freeze the frame at 23 seconds, we are able to see a small crocodile in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. The only reason we are able to see him is because his eyes are lighting up from the night vision this house security camera has. 

As the crocodile creeps up closer, we are shocked by his stealth, and the couple doesn’t even realize this predator is near. Suddenly, it slips right into the pool, literally right next to the couple! Now alerted to his presence, the man jumps out of the pool since his back is to the wall. The woman was not so lucky as she only had the opportunity to back further into the pool water, which left it open for this crocodile to go right for the woman. 

The man quickly comes around and tries to intervene, which then allows the woman to jump out. And then what happens next? Well, naturally, this crocodile is now going to enjoy the midnight swim all to himself. Date night is ruined now. 

Where are Crocodiles Located? 

Crocodiles of the family Crocodylidae can be found in countries such as Africa, Asia, Central America, North America, and Oceania. The population status of the crocodile is dependent on the species of crocodile. According to the Crocodiles of the World, there are currently 26 living species of crocodile. However, the discussion of how many crocodiles there are will vary depending on which research you find. 

The Broad-snouted caiman has up to 500,000 in their population, which makes them the highest population species of crocodile.
