1. The Rembert Family Homestead OKC

If you want a truly unique camping opportunity in Oklahoma City, you should check out the Rembert Family Homestead OKC. This family-friendly homestead provides visitors with a chance to meet friendly farm animals. Not only can you stay in a tent within the homestead but also take informative classes. While at the Rembert Family Homestead OKC, you can also purchase fresh produce or raw gemstones. This camping sight is only open from March to October.
2. Oklahoma City East KOA Holiday

One of the more popular campgrounds near Oklahoma City is Oklahoma City East KOA Holiday in Choctaw. Here you can choose from a wide range of accommodations. For instance, you can hitch a tent, bring your RV, or rent a cabin. It’s a great family-friendly campground with many amenities. For example, there is a pool onsite open from May to September. Pets are also more than welcome and they can stretch their legs at the dog park. WIFI is also available and you can participate in planned activities. The activities vary but are usually held from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
3. Tinker AFB FamCamp

You don’t have to venture out of Oklahoma City to camp in Tinker AFB FamCamp. Here you can find 28 campsites with 50 amps of electricity, water, and sewage hookups. There’s also a water and dump station and laundry and bath facilities available. At the Tinker Fam Camp, pets are allowed, but not in the base pond. You also don’t have to leave the campground to enjoy nature or outdoor activities. Visitors can fish in the stocked fishing pond and bird watching. Turtles are common in the pond.
4. Oklahoma Lake Campgrounds

Oklahoma Lake is beautiful and filled with family fun. Here, not only can you pitch a tent and camp, but also fish, hike, swim, and animal watch. Oklahoma Lake covers about 55 acres. This small private lake is clean and affordable. Many visitors enjoy the wildlife and have seen deer, turtles, fish, ducks, and more. Within the campgrounds is also a nice sandy beach for kids.
5. Twin Fountains RV Park

Another fun place for camping near Oklahoma City is Twin Fountains, RV Park. However, no tent camping sites are available. Instead, this campground and resort are only for RVs. Here you can enjoy free limo shuttles to various things to do in Oklahoma City like the Science Museum, OKC Zoo, and the Cowboy Hall of Fame. While in this resort, you can also eat at Semper Fi Bar and Grill. When open, visitors can splash and enjoy the pool, hot tub, and splash pad. This pet-friendly RV campground also has a professional on-site groomer. If you are planning a family get-together, you can also use one of the many grills or the glassed-in pavilion. Need some time to yourself? Read a book and beat the heat in the campground’s clubhouse.
6. Rockwell RV Park & Campground

Also in Oklahoma City, is Rockwell RV Park & Campground. You can find this place on I-40 and Rockwell. There are about 170 sites with 30 and 50 amps with cable, water, and sewer. This RV campground is a great place for families and hosts many events and activities. You can also enjoy free coffee and homemade muffins. Onsite is a convenient dog park, playground, and indoor heated swimming pool. WIFI is also available. Visitors can also enjoy free cable with about 48 stations. This clean and comfortable RV park and campground is also close to many places like the firefighter’s museum, Softball Hall of Fame, state fairgrounds, and downtown Oklahoma City.
7. Scissortail Campground

Another popular spot for camping near Oklahoma City is Scissortail Campground. It’s located in Edmond, Oklahoma, and is located on a lake. This is a great campground if you want to get away and escape into nature. It’s almost guaranteed you’ll see a deer while visiting. The campground covers about 141 acres and features pavilions, a playground, convenient RV hookups, and water fountains. Scissortail Campground also offers great fishing opportunities and is very private.
