Every autumn, the Garden State hosts a lineup of exciting fall events to welcome the spooky season. From seasonal activities and attractions to live music, local fare, and spectacular scenery, these are the 27 best fall festivals in all of New Jersey.

1. Six Flags Great Adventure Fall Fests, Jackson

Six Flags Great Adventure is the place to be for summer thrills. However, when the weather turns cool, the exciting theme park also opens its doors for some fabulous fall fun. Home to three fall fests, including Fright Fest, Kids Boo Fest, and Oktoberfest, there’s something for everyone at Six Flags this autumn.

Fright Fest

Additionally, anyone looking for thrills and chills this fall will love Six Flags Fright Frest. Packed with a calendar of spooky activities, including a haunted house, scare zones, rides in the dark, horror movie showings, and more, Fright Fest is the perfect place to have a scary good time this fall.

Kids Boo Fest

Although Kids Boo Fest is a family-friendly fall event, it has a ton of “spooky fun for all ages.” This year, the ‘fest has several events and shows, including a trick-or-treat trail, a kid-friendly haunted house, rides for all ages, roaming characters and performers, Halloween-themed activities, and more.

Oktoberfest Food Festival

Visitors can also celebrate all things Oktoberfest at Six Flags this fall. With a delicious lineup of seasonal craft brews and German-inspired cuisine, foodies and beer lovers alike will love this amazing autumn event.

2. Holland Ridge Farms Fall Flower Festival, Cream Ridge

Visitors can pick their own flowers at Holland Ridge Farms’ scenic fall festival.

The Holland Ridge Farms Fall Flower Festival is one of the most scenic and unique autumn events in all of New Jersey. Entering its 6th season, overall, the festival includes U-Pick Flowers, food trucks, live music, photos with floral props, a farmers and makers market, and a fun lineup of activities for the entire family. Tickets are available online and must be purchased in advance.

3. The Autumn Lights Festival, West Milford

The Autumn Lights Festival is one of the largest street fairs in North Jersey. Celebrating its 27th year, this West Milford event is also an annual fall celebration, including over 300 vendors, live music, rides, games, food trucks, children’s activities, and more.

4. Happy Day Farm Fall Festival, Manalapan

A corn maze or maize maze is a maze cut out of a corn field. The first corn maze was in Annville, Pennsylvania. Corn mazes have become popular tourist attractions in North America.

Happy Day Farm Fall Festival also has a variety of seasonal activities for the entire family. This year, the fun ‘fest includes a 10th-anniversary corn maze, pumpkin picking, tractor rides, a feeding zoo, pony rides, delicious food, and children’s games, activities, and entertainment. The festival is open daily in October (closed on Tuesdays), and tickets must be purchased online.

5. Crystal Springs Resort Music Festival, Hamburg

This fall, scenic Crystal Springs Resort celebrates the season with fall festivities, great food, and fantastic entertainment, all in a picturesque mountain setting. Additionally, there are many activities, including food trucks, autumn-themed events, live music, a la carte beverages and dining (including fall-inspired menu items), and more. The event is rain or shine, and tickets can be purchased online.

6. Maple Leaf Farms Fall Fun Fest & Pumpkin Picking, Manapalan

Maple Leaf Farms Fall Fest has over 20 autumn activities, including an observation bridge and photo ops, pumpkin picking, a hay maze, a corn maze, train rides, hay rides, pig races, and more. However, what sets this Manaplan fun fest apart is its entertainment, which includes live country music and bull riding. The Fall Fun Fest is open on weekends only, and tickets can be purchased on the same day, in person only.

7. Linwood Fields Festivals, Monroe Township

Throughout the summer, Linwood Fields (across from Pop’s Farm Market and Garden Center) hosts several fun events for the entire family. Additionally, the scenic spot is also home to a fall event, which includes food trucks, wine tastings, a corn maze, a petting zoo, hayrides, and pick-your-own pumpkins, sunflowers, and gourds.

Cape May Brewing Co. is famous for its delicious brews and unique tasting room events throughout the year. This fall, the eclectic brewery’s Brewtanical Garden is home to another seasonal event for beer lovers. The Pick of the Batch Fall Festival includes a lineup of autumn-themed activities and contests, live music, seasonal brews, axe throwing, local vendors, and more.

9. Wightman Farms Fall Festival, Morristown

Located on a scenic farm and apple orchard, Wightman Farms welcomes visitors to its Fall Festival weekends throughout October. This year, activities include hayrides, mazes (including a giant corn maze), a pumpkin slingshot, apple picking, and a picnic area with games and activities for the entire family. Additionally, tickets are available for purchase at the farm.

10. Morey’s Piers Oktoberfest, Wildwood

Farms, orchards, and pumpkin patches aren’t the only places to enjoy the best fall festivals in all of New Jersey. Significantly, the Garden State’s beach towns have their fair share of autumn fun, too. This year, Wildwood’s Morey Pier hosts its Oktoberfest celebration, including the best pier rides and games, live music and entertainment, and traditional German food and beverages.

11. The Fall Block Party, Ocean City

Dubbed “Ocean City’s Premier Fall Event,” the beach town’s Fall Block Party is another popular autumn event that draws thousands of visitors every year. Located throughout Ocean City’s downtown area, the festival hosts over 400 crafters, food vendors, and entertainers. In the evening, there will be a fireworks display launched from a barge off the Ocean City Music Pier. The Fall Block Party is a rain-or-shine event. Visitors can also enjoy the Indian Summer Weekend from October 7-9.

12. Blairstown Fall Festival & Bed Races, Blairstown

Returning for its third year, the Blairstown Fall Festival is a highly anticipated autumn event in the city’s Footbridge Park. This year, the festival has over 50 vendors and activities that also include a craft beer garden, live music, children’s games and activities, and food trucks. The highlight of the festival is undoubtedly the Blairstown Bed Races, one of the area’s most popular events. The event is rain or shine.

13. Harvest, Honey & Garlic Festival, Augusta

Returning to the Sussex County Fairgrounds for its 12th year, the Harvest, Honey & Garlic Festival is a celebration of New Jersey agriculture, arts, and heritage. This year, the festival also includes local vendors and crafters, children’s activities (wagon ride, pumpkin painting, hayrides, arts and crafts), the Garden State Garden Growers, and a farmer’s market featuring local produce, cheese, and wine.

14. Terhune Orchards Fall Family Fun Weekends, Princeton

Terhune Orchards also welcomes visitors to its Fall Family Fun Weekends this October with a full lineup of family-friendly activities for the entire family. Altogether, there is pumpkin and apple picking, corn mazes, pony rides, live music, delicious food, a wine orchard, live music, and a brand new Johnny Appleseed walk-through storybook adventure for children. The festival is rain or shine, and tickets can be purchased online.

15. Heaven Hill Farm Great Pumpkin Festival, Vernon

Open Fridays and weekends throughout October, Heaven Hill Farm’s Great Pumpkin Festival is also chock-full of fall-themed outdoor fun. This year, activities include hayrides to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, pig races, a Canine Dog Show, carnival rides, a giant straw pyramid, delicious seasonal fare (including their famous apple cider donuts), wine tastings, and more. 16. Funny Farm Fall Festival, Mays Landing

Every autumn, Funny Farm Rescue & Sanctuary also hosts their Fall Festival. This year, activities include hayrides, music, face painting, food vendors, and more. Significantly, all proceeds go toward food and veterinary care for the farm’s 600+ animals.

17. Skylands Stadium Jack-o-Lantern Experience, Sussex County

Skyland Stadium’s Jack-o-Lantern Experience is undoubtedly one of New Jersey’s best fall festivals. An extravaganza of fall-themed activities, seasonal food and drink specials, pumpkin picking and painting, live music, and entertainment, this Halloween event has something for everyone. Additionally, the highlight of the event is the 45-minute Halloween Walk decorated with colorful light displays and over 6,000 hand-carved Jack-o-Lanterns. 18. Celebrate Fall at Mountain Creek Resort, Vernon

In addition to the area’s stunning fall foliage, there are a number of activities and events, including live music, shopping for pumpkins and mums, fall-themed food and drinks, games, and more. Additionally, the resort offers several ways to soak up the scenery, such as guided hikes, sky rides, and a mountain coaster (select dates and times only).

19. Fintastic Fall Days, Camden

Those looking for a unique way to celebrate the spooky season should look no further than Camden Adventure Aquarium’s Fintastic Fall Days. Featuring fall-themed displays and glowing gourds both above and below the water, this distinctive fall event also has seasonal sensory tables and interactive displays throughout the aquarium. For an additional fee, guests can also paint and take home their own pumpkin.

20. Mullica Hill Fall Festival Weekend, Mullica Hill

This fall, Main Street in Mullica Hill becomes an autumn wonderland of fall family fun. Featuring food, crafters, face painting, live music, and more, visitors can also participate in the town’s annual living history program.

21. Morven Harvest Festival, Princeton

Morven Museum & Garden will welcome autumn with its Harvest Festival, including music and activities for the entire family. Additionally, the concerts feature ensembles and musicians performing a variety of music to celebrate the fall harvest. There will also be hands-on activities like vegetable harvests and seasonal crafts, and a petting zoo for children. Costumes are welcome and encouraged.

22. Von Thun’s Fall Festival Weekends, Monmouth Junction and Washington

With two locations to choose from, there’s always something to do at Von Thun’s Fall Festival Weekends. This year, the festival also has over 20 family-friendly activities, including hayrides, apple and pumpkin picking, moonlight corn maze and campfires, a farmer’s market, fresh baked goods, and more. Von Thun’s is famously home to the Reba McEntire Country Music Corn Maze. Some activities (maze, pumpkin and apple picking, farmer’s market) are also available on weekdays.

23. Diggerfest Fall Festival, West Berlin

Throughout October and November, Diggerland hosts its Diggerfest Fall Festival, which is equally packed with autumn-themed activities and events. In addition to the park’s regular rides and attractions, throughout the fall, there is also live music, seasonal fun and games, entertainment, specialty food, hayrides, and more. 24. Grayrock N Roll Fall Festival, Clinton

Hosted by the Grayrock Farm Sanctuary, the Grayrock N Roll Festival is an all-day event with over 50 vendors, animal meet-and-greets, food trucks, and more. No tickets are necessary, although there is a $5 parking fee that goes toward animal care at the sanctuary.

25. Chatsworth Cranberry Festival, Chatsworth

The Chatsworth Cranberry Festival is an annual fall event that celebrates New Jersey’s cranberry harvest. Activities include over 150 arts, crafts, and food vendors, a juried craft show, live music, and more. The free, fun event also showcases Chatsworth’s natural beauty and is the perfect way to spend a lovely weekend outdoors this fall.

A family-owned farm in beautiful Hillsborough, NJ, Norz Family Farm & Market is the perfect setting for a fall festival. Activities this year also include farm tours, a 5-acre corn maze, a kids’ corner, a food stand, pick-your-own pumpkins, gourds, winter squash, hayrides, a farm market, scare farm haunted attractions, and more. Additionally, tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

27. Asbury Park Oktoberfest, Asbury Park

Lastly, every October, the Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten hosts their Oktoberfest celebration. Boasting a large outdoor biergarten and sprawling indoor complex, the annual event is also packed with seasonal food and beverage offerings and is a great way to welcome fall in scenic Asbury Park. However, because of severe storms, Oktoberfest will not be held in 2023.

Canceled in 2023, returns October 2024
