America’s Dairyland is certainly worth exploring, whether you are fond of road trips or prefer to fly. Wisconsin ranks 20th in terms of US population and is the 25th largest state in America, boasting over 65,000 square miles to check out. Interestingly, Wisconsin’s highest elevation is less than 2,000 feet, making it a low and rolling landscape. Bordered by Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan, Wisconsin also has close proximity to the Great Lakes.

Overall, Wisconsin maintains similar climates throughout the state, throughout the year. However, Wisconsin’s most populated cities, located along the shores of the Great Lakes, experience much harsher winters compared to southern locations. Wisconsin is also special in that it was greatly affected by Ice Age glaciers and freezes, often referred to as the Wisconsin Glaciation. This lends interest and diversity to the landscape of this state.
