Being attacked by a wild animal is certainly not what anyone would expect heading out of the house in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. And certainly not a bobcat! However, for this couple in North Carolina, they experienced a situation just like this.
Check out the Video Below!
As the couple is headed out of the house, we see the husband carrying what looks to be a plate of food and heading to the car. A short while later, the wife emerges from the house carrying a small animal crate. Perhaps they are headed to a family function and are taking their pet along with them.
Suddenly, the wife lets out a blood-curdling scream as a bobcat is attacking her! Due to the car blocking the view, we cannot see her being attacked. The husband immediately drops the plate and rushes around the car to find out what’s wrong with his wife.
We see him lift the bobcat off his wife and hold it high in the air so it is not able to scratch or bite the man. He walks into his yard, and a neighbor walking by tries to see if he can help. The man yells out in warning that it is a bobcat.
He then throws the bobcat with great force across his yard to get it off. The bobcat quickly recovers, jumping up and running toward his house. Knowing his wife is there and this wild animal is rabid, the man reaches around his back, pulls out a handgun, and chases the bobcat!
And with colorful language, explains how he will shoot this animal if it doesn’t leave. Now that we have seen this crazy video posted below let’s look at what rabid even means.
What Does Rabid Mean?
As you guessed, rabid isn’t a good thing. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, rabies can be described as “a deadly disease caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system. The virus is secreted in saliva. It is usually transmitted to people and animals by a bite from an infected animal. “
You might see a rabid animal start staggering, showing severe aggression, and drooling. According to the Mayo Clinic, there is no known cure for rabies once it has set it.
What Animals can be Rabid?
While it is most common for us to know rabies as being present in animals such as raccoons, foxes, and skunks, a variety of other animals can get rabies too.
