What is the average weight of a male Dogo Argentino?
This breed can trace its origins back to the early 20th century to the city of Córdobain central Argentina. A young doctor by the name of Nores Martinezwanted to create a new breed of dog with the fighting qualities of the Cordoba Fighting dog that would be an excellent hunter and pack dog. In addition to the now-extinct Cordoba fighting dog, it is believed that the new breed was crossed with at least 10 different breeds. Some of these breeds were the Great Dane, Bull Terrier, Spanish Mastiff, Boxer and the Irish Wolfhound. Nores Martinez wrote the breed standard for this newly created breed and today the Dogo Argentino is the first and only registered breed from Argentina.
