Types Of Asps
This reptile belongs to the genus Vipera of which there are currently around 21 recognized species. This snake is in the species Vipera aspis and has a total of 5 recognized subspecies. Although the asp is associated with Egyptian symbolism and was a symbol of royalty in Egypt, it is not native to this country.
