Types Of Warblers
This species is broken into two groups - Old World, in the family Sylviidae and New World, in the family Parulidae. These families are not related to each other. The family Parulidae contains over 117 different species divided into 18 genera. The family Sylviidae is considered one of the most vocally diverse bird families in the world. The Kirtland's Warbler, of the New World order, is one of the rarest songbirds in North America. This little blue-grey and yellow bird can usually only be reliably found in Michigan and even has tourists flocking to the state in hopes of seeing this rarity.
