A bear with three legs enjoyed Labor Day weekend in Florida by plundering a mini-fridge and drinking White Claws. The interaction was caught on camera on Sunday at a residence in the Lake Mary neighborhood of Orlando.

Josaury Faneite-Diglio says that she received an alert from her surveillance camera at about 5 p.m. and looked to see that a bear recognized regionally as Tripod stopped by for a visit. Joseph, Faneite-Diglio’s teenage son, was at home and used his iPhone to record the interaction.

Bruno, the household dog, had warned Joseph of Tripod’s being there, and you can see him calming Bruno in the surveillance footage. Joseph quickly identified the well-known bear in the area.

Tripod gently makes his way toward a window where Joseph is filming. The young man says that he feels like he needs to lock all of the doors after being that close to a bear.

Tripod moves to the little fridge as Joseph keeps recording. Joseph is surprised when he effortlessly unlocks the fridge door. He had three White Claw hard seltzers in his possession by the time Tripod departed. The bear couldn’t leave without downing a container of fish food that was near a fish tank.

Are Bears Common in Florida?

Yes, bears live in Florida and are quite common. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, these animals can live practically everywhere throughout the state but like to dwell in flatwoods, wetlands, scrub oak ridges, and plantation environments.

Bears seek out cover and attempt to avoid areas that are heavily populated. However, based on findings from studies, public assistance requests, and sightings, the commission deems Central Florida and Lake Mary to be one of the places with regular bear visits.

These regions are thought to be the center of the bear population and provide proof of regular breeding. Authorities advise the public to stay away from feeding bears since it can make them more used to people and raise their danger of harm.

Since they are very familiar with the bear, the Florida mother is not afraid. He resides here, and they want to preserve their habitat. This is exactly how you should treat wild animals. With respect, knowing that they’re merely just curious and apparently thirsty for an adult beverage.

Officials advise either postponing putting out your full garbage cans until the morning prior to trash pickup or fastening them so that they’re bear-resistant. These apex predators have an outstanding sense of smell.
