Do you feel guilty leaving your pet at home alone and bored when you go out for a day of fun? These days, it’s easier than ever to bring your best buddy along with you. Many stores now welcome dogs to shop with their owners. Some of the biggest chain stores in America now allow dogs. Here’s the answer if you’re wondering about dogs allowed in Michaels.

Michaels Is Pet-Friendly

Yes, dogs are allowed in Michaels stores. The Michaels Company has stated in posts on social media that they are pet-friendly. This means not only do they welcome your well-behaved dog, but other types of animals can also visit the store. You may end up seeing anything from emotional support pigs to ferrets to birds!

Though the store doesn’t explicitly say it anywhere in their policies, it’s always a good idea to keep your dog on a leash. This makes it easier to avoid any potential issues, such as incidents with other animals, or your dog getting loose and damaging something in the store.

Keep in mind, an individual Michaels store has the right to change their policy at any time, and may decide dogs and other animals are not allowed in that location. Additionally, a Michaels location may be subject to local law. Some areas may have laws that only certified service dogs are allowed in stores.

One thing Michaels does not allow is for dogs to be part of food preparation classes. Though you won’t find this info on their website, many states have laws that dogs cannot enter areas where food is prepared or sold, and Michaels must also follow local laws.

Retailers that are similar to Michaels and are dog-friendly include T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Lowe’s and Home Depot are two additional and very popular places to take your dog along shopping with you. But the best way to find out if a store is dog-friendly is simply to call them and ask!
