Redd Foxx was a talented comedian and amazing entertainer, best known for his work on the sitcom “Sanford and Son.” His birth name was John Elroy Sanford, and he was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 9, 1922. Before he was a comedian, he released five songs with Savoy Records. Redd Foxx passed away from a heart attack at the age of 68. While rehearsing for “The Royal Family”, he collapsed, but it was not taken seriously. This comedian was known for faking heart attacks. However, this time he was not faking it.

Jesse Garron purchased the home of Red Foxx, but did not live in it for long. He was a well-known Elvis impersonator and swore the home was haunted by the late comedian’s spirit. The doors would open and random parts of the home felt significantly colder. Although Foxx did not live in the home at the time of his death, a paranormal medium believes he is upset with the changes to the home. Now the property operates as a real estate office with similar stories.

Redd Foxx fans continue to visit the home, but since it is a business, you can’t tour the inside without permission. Next time you are in Las Vegas, why not make a quick drive? Maybe you will see the shadowy figure of Redd Foxx in the window!

Haunted locations don’t always have to be old, which is the case with this place. The museum was founded in 2012 but was open previously as the Las Vegas Courthouse since 1933. The outside of the building is beautiful, it almost looks like something out of an old vintage movie. Multiple interactive exhibits within the museum tell fascinating stories. So, why is this museum haunted? What have people experienced?

Some people believe the spirits of infamous mobsters remain in the museum because their items are still there, including clothing and weapons. They were also tried and convicted in the very courthouse the museum sits in. For example, the museum carries the barber chair where crime boss Albert Anastasia was murdered.

Visitors and staff complain that they see shadows in the hallways between exhibitions and rooms. Others feel intense and unhappy energy. If you want to experience this for yourself, you can visit the museum after paying general admission.

Another museum makes the list! The Liberace Museum Collection is a museum with a collection of items from the show-stopping entertainer, Liberace. For three decades, he showed off his talent with showmanship, grandeur, and flamboyance. His fame first began in the 1950s when he had his show, the Liberace Show. He frequently wore colorful, bouncy, and flamboyant outfits that inspired Las Vegas fashion still to this day. Tragically, he passed away on February 4, 1987.

In the collection, you can find nearly all the glamorous outfits he wore while performing. The clothing is full of glitz and glimmer, just as he loved it. Staff believes his spirit still lives on in the museum collection. Some have experienced cold temperatures in rooms, almost like a wind was blowing inside. Another worker swore they saw his figure in a cape, sitting by the piano. But when he blinked, the figure was gone.

The most popular ghost story though is about a tree mysteriously falling. A patron visiting the museum had some crass words about the deceased entertainer. Suddenly, a large tree fell next to the person, missing him by just a few inches. Was it bad luck or something more?

Who doesn’t love a little ghost town? Rhyolite Ghost Town is about 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas. It is perfect for a quick day trip if you want to stretch your legs and see something interesting. In 1905, developers had a small camp with miners and workers, but in just two years, it grew quickly to a small town with a general store and schoolhouse. Sadly, the booming economy and opportunities did not last, which led to a large movement of people. By 1916, less than 1,000 people were living in the town. By 1922, only one 94-year-old man remained.

Instead of tearing down the buildings, they have mostly remained in place. A few were destroyed in a fire caused by lightning, but the jail and cemetery are still standing. If people willingly left, why is it considered hunted? A few deaths did happen, enough for the previous residents to have a cemetery. One specific resident was a working woman, Sarah ‘Sadie’ Isabelle Peterman. She was sadly murdered in the small town and buried in Washington. But, years later, she left an impact on locals living near the ghost town, and they designed a headstone for her. Legend states the women in the town refused to bury her in the cemetery because she was a prostitute. While this does make for a dramatic story, her body was buried back home with relatives.

Visitors often claim they can see a young, smiling woman walking around town or putting flowers in her grave. When the visitors blink or look away, she is gone.

Hoover Dam

There are some nutty stories surrounding the Hoover Dam. Did you know that some people believe the dam is part of a prophecy that leads to the end of the world? Others even tell stories of how there are thousands of trapped bodies within the dam walls. Although it is unlikely these stories are true, there are quite a few strange things that happen near the Hoover Dam.

The start of this dam was not a happy one. It was first constructed in 1935. At least 96 people died during construction, and another dozen from related illnesses.

According to legends and local stories, a few of the 96 people that died were stuck in the cement and are still in the dam. They haunt visitors and workers by flickering the lights. Sometimes, tools go missing, which could be a sign these spirits don’t want the dam to expand.
