1. Key West

The average daily temperature in December is a balmy 76 degrees, rarely going below 67 degrees. The beautiful beaches and water here are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and boating during the winter months. The area also has an active nightlife scene.

2. Miami

This Florida city may be famous as a spring break destination for college students, but it’s a perfect place to visit in December as well. It’s one of the warmest places in the state during this month thanks to its location on the state’s southeastern coast. The temperature typically hovers around 76 degrees and is unlikely to go much lower than 67 degrees during the day. Like much of Florida, Fort Lauderdale becomes hot and oppressively humid during the summer, so December is the perfect time to enjoy the beaches there (and it’s less crowded than springtime).
