At 10 feet long and 2 or 3 tons, platybelodons were slightly smaller than modern elephants.

Platybelodon used their four tusks like "sporks" to shovel food into their mouths.

Platybelodons had two sets of serrated tusks that could strip bark off of trees.

Platybelodon's tusks were used more for defense than as eating utensils.
