It’s the type of store you can get lost in, checking out different craft and art supplies and letting your inner vision and creativity lead you. If you’re the type of person who wishes you could take your pup anywhere you go, you should know that Michael’s is a pet-friendly store. You can go peruse along with your favorite canine companion, so long as your pet remains well-behaved. But before you invite your pup into your car for the trip, there are some important rules to know!

Are Dogs Allowed In Michaels? 3 Important Rules to Know

1. Leashes Must Stay On

A-Z-Animals spoke with Selena at the Michaels store in Dunn, NC. When asked if they allow dogs in their store, she replied, “We do, just as long as they’re on a leash.” Inquiring further, we asked if there were any restrictions on the types of dogs they allow and she clarified, “There are no breed restrictions.”

Michaels doesn’t have an explicit policy detailing rules for dogs but whenever you’re entering a public space, it’s always a good idea to keep your dog on a leash. Even if you just have a lapdog, make sure that you have the leash or harness to keep your pup secure. They may encounter other dogs or pets, which means they might get excited and want to sniff one another. But as Selena stated, you must keep control over your pup while in the store to be respectful to other customers.

2. Local Laws Apply

Michaels stores are found throughout the country and each state and city may have its own specific laws regarding dogs. Make sure that you’re paying mind to all of your local laws to ensure that you can enjoy a fun outing with your pup.

3. Each Michaels Store is Different

Although Michaels has posted on social media that they are a pet-friendly store, each store reserves the right to make changes or add specifications when it comes to the types of pets or rules around the pets that are allowed in the store. Your best bet before visiting a Michaels store is to call ahead and ask about their specific policy. So long as they say that your dog is welcome, you and your pup can pack up for a fun trip at this well-known and ever-exciting arts and crafts store.
