A Prestatyn resident expressed her shock at constantly discovering huge mature rats in her house. Jackie Rowe, who resides with her two canines on Gas Works Lane, claimed that the massive rats seem to be getting into her home through the bathroom toilet on the upper level of her home.

Not only are they getting inside, these rodents have left a huge mess all over the area.  Although she has so far been able to capture them with electric traps, this has not stopped others from entering her home.

She has asked for assistance from Denbighshire County Council and is currently sleeping in her dining area to avoid having to go anywhere near these massive rodents. She says the latest one found in her toilet was 10 inches long!

You might be asking how sewer rats could access drains from the sewer system. It happens far more frequently than you might imagine. Since they are able to move among drains and sewers, rodents have been historically associated with those areas.

Rats find these kinds of environments to be attractive because they are wet, dark, and secure. The amount of accessible food and water, as well as the variety of sites to build nests, attract rats to houses and more often, restaurants.

What Do You Do If You Find Massive Rats In Your Toilet?

Finding out that rats are living in the sewer and toilet pipes can cause a lot of issues for your house. Issues like backups, clogs, and rodents being able to get in at will are just some of the ones you might encounter.

Correcting the issue is crucial, as is ensuring that rats in toilet bowls don’t ever enter the drainage system in the first place. To prevent rats from accessing your residence, ensure that you close all drainage entryways, and think about installing drainage valves on drains.

Rats can be a big nuisance since they can harm your house, clog drains, and sometimes even transmit disease. As strange as it sounds, rats love drains! They can run and climb in various ways, including across pipes.

Rats can readily climb up drains since there is water nearby where they’re able to swim, which makes it simpler for them. Rats that access drainage systems from the exterior of your home can easily get inside.

Installing rat guards on the sewer lines will stop the rats from scaling the guards and blocking the entryway from the rat having the capacity to access further into the drains while still enabling the wastewater to go out efficiently.
