Chocolate and dogs have got to be two of life’s greatest pleasures, right? So, when you are looking for a name for your new pup, the chocolate industry has a lot to offer. Obviously, these names are popular with owners of brown dogs – especially chocolate-colored labradors and cockapoos. But they can be used for any dog no matter their breed or color. Ironically, whilst you can pick a chocolate-inspired name for your pooch, they cannot each chocolate – it can make them very ill! Check out our list of 100 chocolate-inspired dog names.

Top Tips For Choosing A Dog Name

Selecting a dog name requires a little more thought than just selecting the first one that you like the sound of. In fact, dog name selection should be a combination of art and science. Did you know, for example, that dogs are more likely to respond to certain sounds? Don’t forget that you will be using this name repeatedly, hopefully for a decade or more. You will also be shouting it loud in public places!

Dogs respond best to short and choppy sounds rather than longer and softer ones. Also, it is a mistake to pick a name that sounds like one of the commands that you will be using such as ‘sit’ or ‘stay’.
