Maintaining a balanced diet can be difficult, especially with how fast-paced the working world is today. While some people meet their needs by taking supplements, others choose to alter their diet to incorporate the nutrients that they need. Some of the most important elements individuals should be conscious of including in their diet are vitamins, carbohydrates, minerals, healthy fats, and of course, protein.

Adding protein to your diet comes with a number of health benefits, such as longer satiation, increased energy, boosted metabolism, and improved muscle mass. According to Mayo Health Clinic, “Anywhere from 10% to 35% of your calories should come from protein. So if your needs are 2,000 calories, that’s 200–700 calories from protein or 50–175 grams.” This might seem challenging, but eating animal meats that are rich in protein will help individuals meet their intake needs. Let’s explore 12 animal meats that contain a wealth of protein and in addition to offering other health benefits.
