At the start of this video, we see an enormous rhinoceros up ahead. It’s easy to see why — when you’re standing next to an animal of that size, it dominates everything around it. This tour, going through the Kruger National Park, has slowly started to move up the road. They are carefully trying not to spook this massive beast.
However, as they inch closer, we see this rhino do a quick turn. If we pause the video at 10 seconds, we see this rhino has two horns on his head! This rhino just got a little bit scarier. He rushes in, and we see him stop with such fury that he kicks up dust.
We hear the tour guide start to yell out. He is letting this rhino know that he is there and trying to scare it off with loud noises. However, this only increases the anger of this rhino. Now he shifts into full fight mode and stomps his feet even more. At 27 seconds, we see this rhino charge at this car straight on!
How Fast Can Rhinos Run?
Rhinos are massive mammals that can weigh upwards of 7,000 pounds. However, this shouldn’t lead you to assume they can’t run fast. Rhinos can reach incredible speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. With their strength and weight, this speed is dangerous. Because when this animal catches up, there is no stopping it!
