Most dog owners have been in the situation where you have to pop into a store, but you have your dog with you. Leaving your pup in the car can be dangerous, and tying them up outside the store isn’t always safe either. So what’s a pet owner to do? Luckily, there are several stores across the country where your best fur buddy can shop right alongside you. If you’re wondering about the store JOANN Fabrics in particular, here’s the scoop. Dogs are allowed in JOANN Fabrics. But there are some additional details you need to know.

JOANN Fabrics shares its policy on pets on its website. They encourage customers to bring their pets in, as the store acknowledges that pets make people happy and more creative. However, the store does want customers to keep a couple of tips in mind when bringing in their dog or other animal.

First, the pet must have good manners. That could mean anything from not barking at others in the store to being comfortable in a retail environment without causing damage. You know your pet best, so if you have any questions in your mind that maybe your pet can’t handle visiting the store, it’s always best to leave them at home.

Additionally, all animals that enter JOANN Fabrics must be leashed or contained in a carrier. The store also requests that pets are vaccinated and that you promptly clean up any messes your dog may make in the store. They even offer supplies for such purposes. Finally, the store notes that as a pet owner, it’s your job to make sure you’re considerate of other customers. Some people may be allergic to dogs, or just not comfortable around them. JOANN Fabrics explains that employees have the right to ask you to leave the store if your pet is causing problems.

Are All JOANN Fabric Stores Pet-Friendly?

The company suggests you check your local store online before visiting to see if it has a pet-friendly icon listed. For example, some stores that are located in malls may be subject to mall rules. Pets may only be able to visit the store if there’s an entrance from outside the mall.

What Other Stores Allow Dogs?

Stores that are similar to JOANN Fabrics that allow dogs include Michaels, where the policy may vary from store to store. Additionally, Hobby Lobby allows dogs in their stores, and may also have specific rules based on location.
