Spoopy season is upon us! Discover the best pumpkin patches in Georgia this fall!

The days are crisp, the nights are cool, and there’s something mysterious wafting in the air. Halloween is upon us! Surprisingly, while pumpkins are what we use for jack-o-lanterns in modern times, the original jack-o-lanterns were carved from large turnips. If you live in the Peach State, there’s no shortage of spots to experience autumnal fun. From hay rides to corn mazes to hunting for the perfect jack-o-lantern, these are the best pumpkin patches in Georgia.

1. Ole McDermitt’s Farm

Ole McDermitt’s Farm is one of the most family-friendly pumpkin patches in Georgia. At present, you can find traditional fall activities like a pumpkin patch, hayride, and corn maze, children can also try their hand at rubber duck races – powered by vintage water pumps – or panning for gems! Subsequently, if kids are lucky enough to find one, they can take it home as a souvenir!

2. Mark’s Melon Patch

Mark’s Melon Patch offers traditional fall fun like corn mazes, open daily through November 30, 2023. Additionally, they also offer the chance to do a corn maze or hayride after dark. Further, “Flashlight Cornmazes” and “Nighttime Hayrides” are offered on select nights for those looking to up the spooky factor. Over 100 jack-o-lanterns will light the way!

3. Wargo’s Pumpkin Patch

Enjoy free admission to Wargo’s Pumpkin Patch, located in Grantville. Family-owned, Wargo’s is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Once you’re there, take a hayride, get lost in the corn maze, dine on fried apples, pick out your jack-o-lantern, take family fall photos, or try out arts and crafts!

4. Rutland Farms

When you’re done picking out pumpkins, be sure to hit up the charming petting zoo at Rutland Farms. The pumpkin patch is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until November 4th. Rutland offers several different corn mazes with varying levels of difficulty and spookiness. Indeed, families with children two years old or younger will appreciate the Mini Maze. However, if you’re looking for something more challenging, try out the giant maze. Markedly, the design is different and can only be fully appreciated from up in the air. Additionally, select “Flashlight Nights,” you can try it out after dark. There’s also a Murder Mystery Night Maze happening one night only on October 28, 2023.

5. Abbottsford Farms

Abbottsford Farms opened its doors just a few years ago in 2020, but they’re already a fall favorite. Open Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. until the end of October, Abbottsford Farm boasts a pumpkin patch and hayride given by Thomas the Tank Engine himself! Don’t forget to take home some fresh produce with your pumpkins.

6. Randy’s Pumpkin Patch

In addition to looking for the perfect jack-o-lantern pumpkin, visitors can also purchase tickets for the Spider Jump, Haunted House Slide, face painting, corn maze, trackless train, and carnival games. Randy’s Pumpkin Patch hours for the 2023 season are:

MONDAY-THURSDAY 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

FRIDAY 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
SATURDAY 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
SUNDAY 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

7. Mercier Orchards

Mercier Orchards are celebrating their 80th anniversary this year. This beloved spot is perfect for harvesting fresh U-Pick apples. The orchard is open Saturday and Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., but keep an eye on the weather. Whenever there’s lightning in the forecast, they’ll have to cancel U-Pick for safety reasons. Adults can enjoy some hard cider pressed on-site and the lovely selection of baked goods including pies, donuts, apple fritters, and more! Oh and don’t forget to take a tractor tour of the farm.

8. Dickey Farms

Dickey’s is not only one of the best pumpkin patches in Georgia, but it’s also one of the oldest. Established in 1897, this farm is renowned for its fall activities as well as its peach orchards. And 2023 is their inaugural Fall Activities and corn maze. From traditional fall activities to more modern fun, there’s truly something for everyone. Chiefly, the corn maze is the biggest attraction. However, there’s also the option to take a gentle hayride, run around the playground, or try your hand at the corn cannon!

Hours and dates are:

September 23rd – October 29th

Saturdays – Sundays: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Last tickets will be sold at 5 p.m. each day

9. B.J. Reece Orchards

Open through October 29, 2023, B.J. Reece offers a cornucopia of fun:

U-pick is the name of the game at Warbington Farms. Open for fall activities through November 4th, you can hone in on the perfect jack-o-lantern and afterward, u-pick pumpkins, and u-pick zinnias. You can also find three different slides – small, climbing, and giant – as well as two different jumping pillows, hayrides, a corn maze, a bubble station, and more. If you’re looking to decorate your home with traditional or natural decor, they’ve got a good selection of haybales, corn stalks, and of course pumpkins!

11. Bradley’s Pumpkin Patch

Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., Bradley’s gives those near Dawsonville, GA the perfect fall experience. Particularly, their Country Gift Shop offers a variety of local, handmade items including:

12. Big Springs Farms

While some pumpkin patches have entry fees, Big Springs Farm charges no admission fee or parking costs. Wagon rides are $5 per person and last about 15 minutes. Consequently, you’ll enjoy a peaceful scenic tour of the farm, including a view of the pumpkin patch. Another key point: there are hundreds of pumpkins to choose from up to the biggest sizes at 50 – 60 pounds. Not only do they have a corn maze, but also face painting, gem mining, and a farm train!

13. Sleepy Hollow Farm

Sleepy Hollow Farm is quite a popular attraction so they advise guests to purchase their tickets ahead of time online. If you’re a fan of escape rooms, you won’t want to miss their escape woods adventure! Other fall activities offered include:

14. The Red Apple Barn

Red Apple Barn has a charming covered bridge that offers Georgians a chance to enjoy a bit of New England fall that Washington Irving would approve of. Moreover, you’ll find u-pick apples and pumpkins. Sizes, shapes, and colors vary – there are about 12 kinds of pumpkins on the farm, so whichever jack-o-lantern you’re going for, you’ll undoubtedly find it here. Guests are also permitted to enjoy a picnic on the farm, take a pleasant stroll along the creek, go for a jaunt on the tire swing, or play matches of cornhole and horseshoes.

15. Buford Corn Maze

Buford Corn Maze has been listed by Country Living Magazine as one of the top corn mazes in the nation and it’s not hard to see why! Once you’ve navigated it, be sure to check out their haunted forest and give a pat to the many animals living on the farm, or challenge friends and family to a race on the pedal cart racetrack! If your family photo album needs a refresher, be sure to visit the photo area with various fall props to create a new memory. Young children will adore the pony rides or the chance to frolic in the corn box – think sandbox filled with dried corn.

16. Burt’s Farm

Those with busy schedules will appreciate the flexibility that Burt’s Pumpkin Farm. The pumpkin patch and on-site store is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, hayrides are available every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Burt’s is also open later in the season compared to most other pumpkin patches in Georgia. While most shutter their doors on November 4th, they’re open til November 10th.

17. Pettit Creek Farms

Admission to Pettit Creek Farms comes in several levels and offers scads of fun and unlimited rides or turns – depending on the ticket purchase. Here are just a few of the activities awaiting you and your family this fall at Pettit Creek:

Undoubtedly, everyone’s picked pumpkins before. However, have you ever picked flowers with a T-rex? You can when you visit Yule Forest! As part of your general admission to Yule Forest, you can experience the mighty T-rex, Triceratops, and more every weekend at select times during pumpkin season, courtesy of Prehistoric Nation. Moreover, every weekend through October 29, you can visit the artisan market featuring mouth-watering meals from food trucks and exploring handmade goods from local artisans and businesses. Yule Forest also hosts an entertaining and educational exhibit on the history of farming, puppet shows, and a chance to meet the farm bees that make growing crops possible!

19. Kinsey Family Farm

Open for October, the Kinsey Family Farm offers a vast array of pumpkins in many sizes and colors – not just the typical orange. While you’re here, don’t forget to check out the selection of fall blooms like chrysanthemums and pansies. If baking is your specialty, don’t miss the chance to pick up a few pie-worthy pumpkin varietals like Jardales.

20. Mitcham Farm

Unlike most other farms on this list, Mitcham Farm is open from March through November, with different activities and fun for each season. In the fall, you’ll find:

21. Berry Patch Farms

Once you’ve selected the perfect jack-o-lantern, be sure to return to Berry Patch Farms for your Christmas tree in a few months! Aside from a pumpkin patch, they offer seasonal berry picking in July and Christmas trees in December. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays 10-6 p.m. only. Make sure to check their Facebook page as their website is experiencing technical difficulties.

22. Scottsdale Farm

If you’re looking to go whole-hog on the jack-o-lantern this year, Scottsdale Farms is the place for you. Pumpkins found in their patch range from a modest couple of pounds to over 150! However, they only take credit and debit cards – no cash – so make sure to come prepared. And don’t forget to check out the hayrides, goats, sunflowers, and photo spots to caption the fun for years to come!

Hours are Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sundays, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

23. Poppell Farms

Poppell Farms hosts over 20 different activities for non-stop family fun! Pony rides, hayrides, haunted trails, flashlight maze, and more! Open through October 29, ticket prices vary depending on whether you go on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Note: the haunted trail is not offered on Friday nights – only Saturdays and Sundays.

Attractions include not only a pumpkin patch but also “Conk the Crow,” where guests can throw balls in a carnivalesque setting and try to knock down crows in a corn field; mega slide; roller boller; corn maze, jumping pillow; ropes course; cow train; corn cannon; zip line; and more!

26. Jaemor Farms

Last year, Jaemor Farms harvested over 100 acres of pumpkins. Consequently, they’re sure to outdo themselves this year. Open through October 29, u-pick pumpkins and corn maze fun are available during the following hours:

27. Steed’s Dairy

Come for the pumpkin patch, stay for the educational experience! Steed’s Dairy offers cow milking demonstrations, a 5-acre corn maze, hay rides, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, a jumping pillow, a giant tube slide, a corn kernel pit, rubber duck racing, zip lines, pony rides, and more! Also, Steed’s Dairy offers educational field trips where students can learn about farming, nutrition, ecosystems, and conservation!

Children 2 and under a free, and anyone 3 and up is $12. If you are a senior, military service member, or wish to book a group of 15 or more, tickets are $9 each. Open Saturdays 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.

28. Uncle Shuck’s Pumpkin Patch

Try your hand at this 15-acre corn maze or if you’ve got little ones, seek the kiddy maze. If you opt for a night excursion on the “Dark Rows” haunted trail, don’t miss a chance to roast marshmallows after in one of Uncle Shucks bonfire pits! Additionally, you’ll find unlimited wagon rides, corn cannons, tire mountain, and goat walk tickets are also available.
