Illinois is quite a developed state, with practically the entire state being criss-crossed with roads and human settlement! Therefore, unlike some of the less developed states in the US, these ‘remote’ spots are still close to roads. In fact, the vast majority of these spots have addresses that can be plugged into a GPS. Project Remote, a family-team of explorers seeking to find the most remote spot in each U.S. state, agree that remoteness in Illinois is a relative quality. While it surely makes these ‘remote’ spots seemingly less remote, it makes reaching them much simpler! So join us as we take a look at some of the best spots in the prairie state to get away from it all!
