It never ceases to amaze us the technology that there is in the world today. At our fingertips, we can Google any animal and come up with dozens of pages that contain research, blogs, and videos. Not only that but there are numerous ways to take footage of the animals that we see in the wild. No longer do we have to tell via word of mouth or just images. Now, we can capture footage of animals in the wild without them knowing people are even present. We see this from trail cameras or in the video posted below, where a drone overhead caught an amazing sight.

“Hello, it’s Derek Burgoyne, welcome to my channel! I am Canadian. I am an avid outdoorsman. Any remote location and off-trail is where I naturally migrate to. My true outdoor passion is following and filming the great Canadian moose. I love stomping through the moose winter grounds, searching for moose shed antlers! Come along each journey with me, as I document my encounters with the wild outdoors!”
Moose Shedding Antlers
At the start of this short YouTube video clip, we get an aerial view of this massive moose standing alone in the snow. The ground has a thick snow blanket all around. The sight is simply breathtaking, to say the least.
This enormous moose is standing at attention as if he is about to do something. Suddenly, we see him looking around. It’s like he wants to ensure that he is completely alone. Then, we see him begin to shake violently. And as he shakes, we see his antlers begin to fall off slowly.
How Big Are Moose in Comparison to Elk?
Moose (Alces alces) of the genus Alces are located around North America, Europe, and in Eurasia. These large mammals can weigh anywhere from 270-720 kilograms (600-1,580 pounds). Moose can reach as tall as six or so feet tall.
A common mistake is thinking moose and elk are the same size. However, elks are much taller than moose. Elks can grow to be about nine feet tall.
