Move out of the way… elephant coming through! See below as an enormous elephant walks mere feet from a car full of people.

Watch the Exciting Video!

The video begins by showing a massive elephant standing in the middle of a rural dirt road. From the perspective of the cameraman, we can assume that the giant creature is blocking the way of the people in the car.

The elephant then begins taking slow lumbering steps toward the car. Regardless of the animal’s intentions, its size is enough to scare the people in the car. It then begins to move to the side of the car, coming up to the driver’s window. With a moment of intrigue, the elephant stops at the window, making full eye contact with the camera! After a few moments of looking around, it continues back with its walk, moving out of the way of the car.

Elephants are some of the largest mammals on earth, and one species have been even named the largest land mammal. Depending on the species, elephants can grow around 8-13 feet tall from shoulder to foot. This makes them as tall as two refrigerators stacked on top of each other!

In terms of weight, elephants can grow to be somewhere between 5,000 and 14,000 pounds, depending on species, gender, and age.

Males tend to grow larger than females, both in size and weight. Additionally, male tusks are usually longer and heavier than female tusks. As they get older, they will grow exponentially larger, which is why older elephants are larger than young elephants.

Some of the largest types are African elephants, which can grow to 60 or 70 years old. In comparison, slightly smaller species, such as Asian elephants live for around 50 years on average.

As mentioned earlier, elephants are the largest land mammals on Earth! Many people question what type of animal they are, usually due to their unique features such as tusks and trunks.

Animals must have some unique traits to be considered a mammal. Some of the most common include having the ability to produce milk and having mammalian body hair. In addition to these, there are some other unique mammalian traits, such as having 3 inner ear bones and a diaphragm to separate the lungs from the abdomen.

Although it may not seem like it, they have all of these unique traits. For example, they give live birth and breastfeed their young!

Additionally, elephants have very fine hair that can be found all over their body and even on their trunk! This body hair usually serves a special purpose for mammals. Their body hair acts as an insulating layer that keeps in cool air and prevents warm air from reaching their skin. Additionally, they have a dense patch of hair on their tail that they can use to swat flies away from their body.
