Many people are naturally afraid of snakes. And others … are not. For example, this woman, who masterfully removed not one, but TWO snakes from a ceiling in a home. Watch the fearlessness of this woman in the video above.
This Instagram reel was posted on the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers Instagram page, a channel featuring snake catchers. On it, they share their amazing snake captures. This particular video focuses on the Australian scrub python.
Pythons in the Ceiling
At the start of the video, the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers team was called to a house in Australia because there were two Australian scrub pythons in the ceiling.
One of the snake catchers hopped up onto the kitchen counter. We see a hole cut in the ceiling that is big enough to get the two pythons down safely. The snake catcher reaches up with a pole that has a hook on the end to be able to grab the python to pull it down. Notice that when the python gets low enough for her to take hold, she grabs near its head to ensure she doesn’t get bitten.
The Instagram comments on this reel went wild. We had to laugh at the one comment below.

Regardless if it was a man or a woman, we are impressed they were able to get these pythons out so quickly. And not only fast, but they were able to get them down safely without causing them or anyone else any harm. Let’s get a closer look at the Australian scrub python.

The Australian scrub python (Simalia kinghorni) is a python native to Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. They can weigh in excess of 25 kilograms (55 pounds) and can reach astonishing lengths of up to 26 feet.
These pythons are carnivorous, meaning they eat meat. They are known to eat bats, rats, possums, wallabies, birds, and cuscus.
The Australian scrub python is listed as the largest snake in all of Australia. No wonder this family called for these professional snake catchers to come out and take care of the situation. That’s no small task and is best left to the professionals.
