When you think of fierce animals in the wild; specifically in Africa, we’re almost certain the lion comes to mind. After all, the king of the jungle is one of the most revered and respected animals in the animal kingdom.

And when we think of the lion and what predators it may have, it’s difficult to think of anything that can match up to the fierceness of the lion. However, the rhinoceros just might cut. Let’s see what happens in the video below.

Lion and Rhino Sighting in Africa

The next YouTube video posted at the top of this blog post takes us to Africa, the land of beautiful and wild animals. The video was shared by the Incredible Wild Animals Sightings. This channel shares amazing footage of animals like the great king of the jungle, the fierce Nile crocodile, and the swift cheetah. They share a short snippet of what happened in the video below.

“The rhino is a kind of amazing wild animal and it’s a prey that can eat only grass rhino has a strong body that it can fight against predators like lion and other predators and the lion is scared of rhino attack.”

Are you ready to see the most intense fight ever? The clash of wild animals is like we are in a “Clash of the Titans” gladiator movie. Well, sorry to disappoint, but this video at the top isn’t that. We would probably assume there would be a great fight because of how big rhinos are, but not this video.

At the start of this video, we see a few lions lounging in this spot on top of this small hill. Suddenly, we see enormous rhinos appear out of nowhere!

Without skipping a beat, these lions, one by one, get up to walk away. It’s quite comical the way they quickly get up. They know if there is one animal not to fight, it’s a rhinoceros.

Can a Rhino Kill a Lion?

A question not easily answered because it can depend on the circumstances and in how many there are of each animal in a fight.

The rhino (Rhinocerotidae) weighs anywhere between 1,765 to 7,716 pounds, and their horn can reach up to 59 inches. The lion (Panthera leo), on the other hand, weighs up to 550 pounds, and their claws are up to 1.5 inches in length.

According to Wildlife Informer, “When a rhino charges at full speed, it can strike with more than 8,000 pounds of force…A rhino can bite with up to 1,000 PSI of force.”

So, yes, a rhino could beat a lion in a fight if it came down to one on one.
