Costco’s small pet supply department only stocks items for dogs and cats, with the occasional item for other animals. This month, we found a few great products in their pet section. While admittedly small, it offers several great pet products.

In December, treat your furry buddies to a few great items to help them live healthier and happier lives.

Best Overall: Brilliant Salmon Oil, 16.9-Ounce 2-Pack

Salmon oil is a great supplement for humans and our pets alike. It helps lubricate our joints and reduces inflammation. It’s also great for the skin and nails.

Brilliant Salmon Oil is human-grade with no GMOs, antibiotics, or other additives. To serve, it’s best to use it as a topper and each bottle has a pump to dispense the oil. A couple of customers commented on the cost, which definitely adds up. That aside, our pick for the best pet product in December is the Brilliant Salmon Oil 2-Pack of 16.9-ounce containers.

Best Treat for Dogs: Cadet Bully Stick 9- to 12-Inch Variety 2-Pack

For dogs who love to chew, bully sticks are a great option. These single-ingredient chews are high-protein, low-fat chews that last long enough to keep your pooch occupied for a while.

The Cadet Bully Stick Variety Pack has over two and a half pounds bully sticks sourced from free-range, grass-fed cattle, each measuring nine to 12 inches long. There’s a caveat, however, this product is one of many whose cost has increased significantly.

Cost increase aside, bully sticks are never an inexpensive chew, but they are one of the healthiest treats you can give your dog. For that reason, the Cadet Bully Stick Variety Pack is our pick for the best dog product this December.

Best Dog Accessory: Faux Fur Pet Mat, 40×35 Inches

Your pup may love sleeping outside when the weather’s nice, but what about when it cools off? That’s right, they take over your bed.

Instead of fighting to sleep alone, how about a great bed just for Fido? The Faux Fur Pet Mat has a memory foam pad that gently supports your pooch and a removable faux fur cover. The flat, bolster-less design lets your pet stretch out completely with a large with plenty of room.

We love the plush fabric and memory foam pad this bed offers, and the size seems great for dogs up to about 60-70 pounds. The Faux Fur Pet Mat is our pick for the best pet accessory in December.

Best Pet Bed: Kirkland Signature 25-Inch Hexagon Cuddler Dog Bed

Yes, this month’s Costco deals list has more dog than cat items. However, we think that this bed is perfect for either a smallish dog or a pair of kitties. It’s only 25 inches across and the includes the bolster around the edge.

The pad is memory foam, and part of the cover comes off for washing, the rest needs to be spot-cleaned. There are are three other colors, white, gray, and blue-geometric pattern. We love the side walls that help our pets feel safe in their bed, and pillows to lay their heads. The Kirkland Signature 25” Hexagon Cuddler Dog Bed is our pick for the best pet bed this December.

Best Cat Scratcher: Catit Vesper Minou Cat Scratcher

The next item we found is the Catit Vesper Minou Cat Scratcher. It’s a short tunnel-shaped scratcher that gives your kitty a hiding spot all in the same piece. Inside the tube is a removable memory foam cushion with a plush fabric cover.

Some cats are a little nervous about new things, and take some time to get used to it. However, a little catnip sprinkled in and on the scratcher gets most of them happy to explore it. The Catit Vesper Minou Cat Scratcher is our pick for the best cat scratcher in December. We loved its simple but effective construction.
