Indoor water parks offer year-round fun for families and aquatic enthusiasts. They are an excellent option for when the weather cools down and gets too chilly or rainy for outdoor play, or they can provide a supplemental oasis to beat the heat during summer. Indoor water parks are usually inside resorts or amusement centers, and they offer a temperature-controlled space that is not affected by weather conditions. These parks can provide multiple swimming pools, splash pads, water slides, and much more. Check out the largest indoor water park in Texas and learn about its amenities, attractions, and pricing.

The Kalahari Resort is an expansive African-themed lodge and amusement attraction in Round Rock, Texas. The resort offers laid-back rooms with flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi, and the upgraded suites have whirlpool tubs, wet bars, and separate living areas. But it’s safe to say you won’t be spending much time in your room during your stay. At Kalahari, the attractions are the best part.

The 223,000-square-foot indoor water park has numerous water slides, splash areas, surfing simulators, a swim-up bar, a water basketball lagoon, a wave pool, and a lazy river. You can even throw birthday bashes in the park and rent bungalows and cabanas for private parties.

When you’re not playing and splashing at the water park, there are a million other things to do at this resort.

Here is a list of other attractions at Kalahari:

  • Tom Foolerys Adventure Park – games, rides, laser tag, play areas, a maze, and an escape room
  • State-of-the-art bowling alley
  • Amatuli – a marketplace featuring local artisans and African craftsmen, with bar service and live music
  • Adventurers Club – arts and crafts for the whole family
  • Spa Kalahari and Salon – body treatments, massages, skin/nail services, jacuzzi pool, steam room, sauna, and a lounge
  • A fitness center with personal trainers
  • Build-A-Bear Workshop
  • Zakanaka Children’s Store
  • Seasonal events, such as the Kalahari Spooktacular, which features trick-or-treat stops, dance parties, live music, and Halloween-themed activities
  • Signature restaurants, as well as bars, waterpark dining, and snack shops

Does Kalahari Have All Inclusive: All About Pricing

Kalahari offers inclusive packages for your stay, which include unlimited visits to the indoor water park. If you plan on visiting the Adventure Park, you can add it to your stay when booking your room or pay when you get there. Spa services, dining, bungalow rentals, etc. must be purchased separately.

Basic Rooms start at $250 per night and include access to the waterpark, complimentary Wi-Fi, and access to the fitness center. You can choose to add on perks, more waterpark time, a late checkout, access to the Adventure Park, ride wristbands, Buil-A-Bear certificates, spa services, dining packages, and birthday celebrations. Whatever you add will change the price of your stay.

For example, a two-night stay for two adults and two children, with the addition of two child wristbands for the Adventure Park and a spa session for two adults, would be around $1,886, including tax. Day passes for the waterpark (without booking a stay at the hotel) begin at $50 per person for one day.

How Many Days Are Enough For Kalahari Resort?

Two nights at Kalahari is plenty of time to explore and enjoy your stay, while not going overboard on additions. If you book your room for two nights, you actually get to enjoy the resort for three days due to its lenient waterpark visit times for guests. Guests can begin visiting the waterpark at noon on the day of check-in and until 3:00 PM on the day of checkout.

What is the Best Day to Go to Kalahari?

While a visit earlier in the week will mean fewer crowds, all of the rides and attractions may not be open, as the resort staffs people based on guest volume. But if you wait until the weekend, you will be met with overcrowding. The best days to visit Kalahari are Thursdays and Fridays. There will be enough people present for most of the attractions to operate while still being manageable crowd-wise.
