Pennsylvania’s beautiful scenery and colorful fall leaves make it the ideal place to spend an autumnal vacation. Here, there are many fantastic pumpkin patches, and as the weather becomes chilly and the leaves change, both locals and tourists swarm there to enjoy all the traditional fall festivities. 

With activities like selecting pumpkins right off the vine, hayrides, and petting zoos, Pennsylvania’s greatest pumpkin patches provide a fun getaway for people of all ages. Here are some pumpkin-picking locations we recommend that will put you right in the seasonal spirit!

1. Sisson’s Pumpkin Patch

Sisson’s Pumpkin Patch in Girard, PA has been open for business for more than ten years There are a variety of activities for you and the littles to enjoy. Pedal carts, massive slides, and hay rides will get you in the autumn spirit!

The pumpkin patch is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting mid-September and running through the end of October. It’s $12 to enter, $5 for those 60 and up, and free for children under 2. Season passes are $32.

2. Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, a 100-acre farm in Ronks, offers a range of family-friendly activities. People of all ages can enjoy relaxing on a hayride or exploring the corn maze. Kids love the petting zoo and play area. 

Unlike many pumpkin patches in Pennsylvania, this one has a brewery, live music, and even fireworks! Fruit harvesting is available at Cherry Crest in the early months of the year. The farm is open between May and November. 

Their autumnal celebration begins in the middle of September and lasts through the first week of November, culminating in a festival called Pumpkin Madness. Cherry Crest is open for business on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday’s hours are slightly shorter, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost of a ticket starts at $26.95 and varies depending on the specific date and any added activities. Purchase for less money online. Children younger than two are free.

3. Hellerick’s Family Farm

Since the late 1700s, Doylestown’s Hellerick’s Family Farm has been a functioning farm. Nowadays, Hellerick’s produces food for the neighborhood and serves as a tourist attraction all year long with activities like crop picking, goat yoga, and wall-climbing in silos.

You can take advantage of a five-acre corn maze, a play area made of tractor tires, and a hay ride. Of course, there are thousands of pumpkins available for picking! 

The Fall Festival begins in the middle of September and lasts until the end of October. It’s open every day starting at 10 a.m., with the last admittance at 5 p.m. Children under the age of 2 eat free on weekdays, while that’s $15 on weekends. 

4. Grim’s Orchard and Family Farms

Grim’s Orchard and Family Farms has 80 acres of land, making it the perfect autumn destination. It’s been around for over 80 years and has something for each season. During fall, you can dig for your own potatoes and pick giant sunflowers. 

Their Fall Festival, which concludes the year, is their biggest event. The Fall Festival offers apple and pumpkin picking! Kids adore the petting zoo and play area. People of all ages can get lost in the corn maze, hop on a hayride, check out the cattle train, and enjoy the tasty treats. 

From the middle of September through the last week of October, there are Saturdays and Sundays dedicated to the Fall Festival. The hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cut-off time for entry is 5:30 p.m.

Entrance to the farm is free. That being said, you have to pay separately for the corn maze, apple picking, and pumpkin picking, as well as the hayride. While discounts are available, packages start at $20 per person. 

5. Linvilla Orchards

Linvilla Orchards, located in the charming town of Media, is one of the best pumpkin patches in Pennsylvania for couples and nature lovers. Featuring vast orchards, a lovely farm marketplace, and a variety of events throughout the year.  

They have hayrides, a straw bale labyrinth, a corn maze, horse and wagon rides, and spookily dressed witches at nightfall as part of their fall events, which they name Pumpkinland. Although Linvilla is open every day of the year, Pumpkinland starts in the middle of September and runs through Halloween.

It is open from Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re visiting on Friday or Saturday, the hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Entering Pumpkinland to take in the ambiance won’t cost you a dime. Extras include games, treats, and of course, a pumpkin patch! 

6. Shady Brook Farm

Next, our list brings us to Yardley, PA. The entire family events year-round, as well as a fall festival at Shady Brook Farm. In addition to a five-acre corn maze, Fall Fest offers trolley rides to a pumpkin patch. 

The massive slide and live music are a nice touch as well. Fall Fest at Shady Brook Farms goes from early September through Halloween. Ticket costs range from $20 to $40 contingent upon the time and date, and online purchases save you $5. 

The cost doesn’t include pumpkin picking. Children younger than two are free. 

7. Irons Mills Farmstead

Every year, Irons Mill Farmstead in Mercer County, hosts Fall Fun, a family-friendly festival with over 40 child-friendly events. Here you will find everything from pumpkin bowling to a corn maze to a mountain made of tires! 

People may enjoy the day participating in the events and enjoying fall-themed foods such as pizza, ice cream, and donuts. If you’re of age, we highly suggest trying their hard cider! Starting in early September and continuing through Halloween you can enjoy Irons Mill Farmstead.

Electronic day passes cost $24.95 with a discount if you visit on a Thursday or Friday. All events and activities are covered by the tickets. Costs not included include food and pumpkins. 

8. Bear Rock Junction

Next, let’s take a look at one of the pumpkin patches in Pennsylvania that claims to have the best corn maze in the state. Bear Rock Junction has fun activities for the public all year round. Throughout autumn, children love the go-karts and glow mini golf here! 

People of all ages can enjoy a hay ride, walk through the pumpkin patch, and board the spooky Halloween train. Their fall activities begin around the middle of September and go until the beginning of November. 

You can board the Halloween train from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and 1 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The corn maze is around $7 per person, while the hay ride is about $4 each. 

9. Corn Cob Acres

Corn Cob Acres is a great place to spend a crisp autumn afternoon! This is a local fall classic with more than 50 activities, games, and experiences that are great for visitors of all ages. It is located in the town of Mountville, close to York. You can feed goats, enjoy go-kart races, watch pigs chase each other, and play on the inflatable obstacle course.

Tickets cost $20 in person and around $18 online. Guests two years of age or younger get free admission. Every activity is included in the ticket price. The only ones that cost extra are mining for gems, the corn cannon, and pumpkins.

10. Soergel Orchards

A thriving farm, Soergel Orchards in Wexford, close to Pittsburgh, provides fresh vegetables to residents in surrounding counties. You can pick your own pumpkins and apples during your visit. There are food and tractor rides here as well. 

Don’t forget to stop at the market while you’re there. You can buy meat, fresh produce, and mouth-watering pies. The Fall Festival starts in the middle of September and lasts until the end of October. 

The Orchards offer a variety of pricing for picking fruits and vegetables and other fall activities, but entry is free.
