They are filled with delicious foods, fun activities, and locally created goods. What better way to get into the Holiday spirit and shop locally for gorgeous gifts? Follow along to discover 11 incredible Christmas markets in Ontario alone.
Christkindl Market
The first Christmas market on our list is the Christkindl Market in West Grey, Ontario. The Christkindl Market, presented by Symphony in the Barn and the Friends of Glencolton Farm and Saugeen Academy, is on December 8 and 9, 2023. On December 8, the event is open from 4 pm to 9 pm. The next day, it’s open from 2 pm to 9 pm.
Distillery Winter Village in Toronto
Another incredible Christmas Market in Ontario is the Distillery Winter Village in Toronto. While here, you can take photos with Santa, listen to live music, sing along with carolers, and eat delicious foods. You can expect mini donuts, empanadas, crepes, BBQ, and mini pancakes.
Ottawa Christmas Market
The Ottawa Christmas Market continues our list of incredible Christmas Markets in Ontario. The market opens on November 24 and runs till late December with varying hours. While here, you can enjoy 16 days of entertainment and over 45 local vendors. Live performances are also held throughout the market.
Holiday Fair in the Square in Toronto
Fourth on our list is the Holiday Fair in the Square in Toronto. This free fun event runs from December 1 to December 23 at the Mel Lastman Square. What better way to spend your day eating, shopping, and strolling in this magical wonderland? Photo ops are plenty!
Aurora Christmas Market
Who can forget about the Aurora Christmas Market? The Aurora Christmas Market is in Aurora Town Park on December 1 to 3 and December 8 to 10 from 5 pm to 9 pm. This seasonal event has much to do and see, including workshops and a cookie-decorating activity.
MacKinnon Brothers Holiday Market
Also, the MacKinnon Brothers Holiday Market in Bath is only in Ontario. This outdoor holiday market is open from November 27 to 29 and December 4 to 6. There are many vendors to shop at, and delicious food is available.
Willibald Winter Market
The Willibald Winter Market is another excellent Christmas Market only in Ontario. This annual event is on November 25 and December 2 from 9 am to 5 pm. The event is free and held outside under a heated tent. Although free, monetary and food donations are recommended.
Sugar Plum Fair
Have you ever heard of the Sugar Plum Fair? This year, 2023, is the fair’s 40th anniversary! You can enjoy this crafting Christmas market in the Nottawasaga Resort on Saturday, November 11th, and Sunday, November 12th, 2023. Within the event are over 120 local Ontario crafters! The admission fee to enter is C$7.50, although entry is free for those twelve and younger.
Uxbridge Farmers Christmas Market
Continuing our list of 11 incredible Christmas markets only in Ontario is the Uxbridge Farmers Christmas Market. This event is perfect for families and a great way to start Holiday shopping. There are different vendors and activities each week! This lovely local event runs on November 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 10 am to 3 pm.
Kingston Holiday Market
Another incredible Christmas Market in Ontario is the Kingston Holiday Market at the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning. Admission is free. The event runs on the first three weekends in December. The Kingston Holiday Market is open from 11 am to 4 pm. A few vendors you can stop at in this market include Hawkeye Pottery, Twisted Thistle Art Co., Nostalgia & Co., and Sunday Morning Candle Co.
Bracebridge Festival of Lights
Last but not least is the Bracebridge Festival of Lights in Downtown Bracebridge. There is so much to do during this festival and Christmas market. For example, you can enjoy Christmas carols, delicious foods, kids’ crafts and activities, gorgeous illumination of holiday displays, fireworks, and the Santa Claus parade. So, when is this event? The Bracebridge Festival of Lights is on November 17 and 24 and December 1, 2023. This festival also offers an exciting Hot Cocoa Trail to support small businesses. According to the Bracebridge Festival of Lights, if you visit a participating business on the list, you can win one of three $50 Shop the Bridge gift cards.
