The Lone Star State has been attracting out-of-towners for a variety of reasons, which include the warm climate, fantastic job opportunities, and more affordable home prices when compared to coastal cities. All of these reasons contribute to a growing population that doesn’t seem to be slowing down. So are you interested in moving to Texas? Or do you want to learn more about the state in general? 1. Georgetown

Georgetown is one of the fastest-growing towns in Texas by far! This city has seen huge population growth in just two years’ time. From 2020 to 2022, the population increased by 26% with the final population in 2022 found to be 86,507 residents according to the U.S. Census Bureau. So why has Georgetown been seeing such a huge influx of new residents? One of the biggest reasons is that Georgetown is only a 30-40 minute drive from Austin. The city of Georgetown also offers residents lots of perks without having to live in a big city. For example, Georgetown Town Square is filled with restaurants, local shops, and bars that are all worth checking out.

2. Kyle

As one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, Kyle’s population soared from 28,016 in 2010 to 45,697 in 2020.

Another city in Texas that has been seeing huge population growth is the city of Kyle. Kyle is a city located along I-35 between Austin and San Antonio. The population here grew astronomically between 2010 and 2020 as numbers increased from 28,016 to 45,697. In 2022, the population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, was 57,470. What makes Kyle so popular is how charming the city is. It has a unique reputation as the Pie Capital of Texas and many people come here on weekend getaway trips as well. 3. Leander

Another city that has been seeing a lot of growth lately is Leander. This vibrant city is located just outside of the Great Austin Metropolitan Area. It has seen a 22% increase in the population from 2020 to 2022, with the 2022 census estimate being 74,375. This area is incredibly popular because it has so much to offer residents. Many outdoorsy people move here because of outdoor attractions such as Lake Travis and the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. Besides outdoor activities, there are also museums, breweries, and lots of live music venues in the area.

4. Little Elm

This small city has been continuing to grow over the past few years thanks to how lovely the community is. The population in 2022 was 55,357 which presents a 17% growth from 2020. So what has been contributing to the growth here? Well, for starters, Little Elm is just minutes away from Frisco and about an hour away from Dallas. This makes it a great commuting city. Additionally, there are many great spaces for outdoor activities, such as Lewisville Lake and Arrowhead Park.

5. New Braunfels

The population in 2020 was 91,621 and it exploded by 14% by 2022 with a population of 104,707. It makes sense when you take into account how charming this small city can be. One of the biggest attractions here is the Guadalupe and Comal rivers. These rivers are excellent for families that enjoy kayaking, tubing, and swimming! Downtown New Braunfels also offers residents diverse options when it comes to dining, shopping, and exploring.

Conroe is a beautiful small city that is known for the 22,000-acre Lake Conroe. Over the past few years, it has quickly become one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas. In fact, the population grew by 11% in just two years from 2020 to 2022. In 2022, the population was 101,405. One of the biggest attractions is Lake Conroe, where you can enjoy lots of activities such as swimming and fishing. However, the lake isn’t the only attraction. Conroe also offers residents a beautiful downtown area where you can shop, eat, and go to the movies. There are also two notable breweries in the town —  B-52 Brewing Company and Southern Star Brewing.

The city is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area and attracts many people looking for affordable housing. In 2022, the population of Frisco reached 219,587, which was an 8% increase from 2020. Since it is only 25 minutes north of Dallas, Frisco is conveniently located while also offering residents lots to do. Frisco is the home base for the Dallas Cowboys and the Professional Golfers’ Association. The city also has an incredibly rich history that is on display at the Frisco Heritage Museum. The city’s population in 2022 was noted to be around 89,458. When taking into account the population in 2020, the population has grown by 8% in just two years. There is a lot to love about Temple, no matter if you’re an outdoorsy person or you consider yourself to be a foodie. Many residents flock to Lake Belton, which is just a few miles east of the city. This suburb of Dallas is only 20 miles away from downtown Dallas. This makes it a great commuter city. In fact, the population saw a 5% growth from 2020 to 2022, reaching 111,551 in 2022 according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Allen also features lots of shopping centers, such as the Allen Premium Outlets, and restaurants as well. It is also only 30 minutes away from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. If you happen to be a golfer, then you’ll definitely want to check out this area as it is home to two award-winning golf courses.

Round Rock is a city located within the Greater Austin metro area. As far as Texas cities go, Round Rock is definitely one that is filled with lots to do. Whether it’s a sporting event, concert, or engaging in a shopping spree — there’s always something to explore and indulge in! When you take all of this into account, it makes sense that the population has grown from 120,531 in 2020 to 126,697 in 2022. As it is centrally located from most major Texas metropolitan areas, this city has continued to attract lots of newcomers. It is only 15 miles north of Austin! The population in 2020 was 197,474, and by 2022 it increased to 207,507. So what makes McKinney one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas? Well, for starters, this city has a beautiful downtown area that has lots of cute shops, dining options, and entertainment. The Chestnut Square Heritage Village, which is located near downtown, is a great place to learn all about pioneer life and engage in soap-making and food preservation. There is also the McKinney Performing Arts Center that offers tons of different shows to appeal to just about anyone.

12. Fort Worth
