Given just how often this zodiac sign prioritizes partnerships, you may be curious about the signs that are the worst match for Libra. A charming, intellectual air sign, Libras tend to get along with most individuals. But which signs of the zodiac present the greatest challenge to Libra’s sense of balance, romance, and relationships?

If you were born anytime between September 23rd and October 22nd, this article may help you uncover which zodiac signs form some of your least compatible matches. While astrological compatibility shouldn’t be the sole thing you consider when partnering with a potential romantic interest, it can be a fascinating and fun thing to learn about. Before we dive into the worst matches for the average Libra, let’s go over the Libra personality.

All About Libra, the Scales of the Zodiac

Ruled by Venus and connected to the seventh astrological house of partnerships and pairs, it’s no wonder that Libras love love! Venus is the planet of romance, pleasure, and justice, all things Libras prioritize in their daily lives. The seventh house is also significant because of its emphasis on partnerships, both romantic and platonic. Libras are sociable, charming individuals, especially in one-on-one settings.

Because of Venus, Libras have an interest in the arts and beautiful things. Aesthetics are of utmost importance to them, especially things that appear well-balanced and harmonious. Anything out of place will be noticed by a Libra immediately, as this Venus-ruled sign knows balance better than any other zodiac sign!

An air sign, Libras think and communicate in abstract, cerebral ways. They emphasize philosophy, sociable uniqueness, and untethered themes when interacting with others, embracing their airy instincts. Libras are also cardinal signs, making them fantastic leaders and instigators. However, something often prevents Libras from embracing their more assertive side: their need for balance.

Libra is the only sign of the zodiac symbolized by an object rather than a human or animal. Represented by scales, Libras are constantly weighing the pros and cons of any decision. Fairness and balance are of utmost importance to Libra, which is why they are more prone to compromising themselves for the sake of others. However, Libras are still a cardinal sign. They will always prefer to lead over following, even if it means they have to rock the boat!

We’ve only just scratched the surface of the Libra personality. How might it manifest in a relationship with certain signs of the zodiac? Here’s why these 4 signs need the most work and effort to get along with Libra, the scales of the zodiac.

1. Cancer

Modality and element placements greatly affect compatibility between the signs, which is why Cancer and Libra can be a trying match. A fellow cardinal sign, Cancers love to lead and be in charge of others, especially when it comes to their romantic partners. While Libras value partnerships greatly and won’t enjoy conflict in their match, they also likely won’t enjoy the Cancer brand of assertiveness!

Cancers are also water signs, an element that prioritizes emotions and subtextual communication rooted in feelings. While Libras are likely to appreciate this about Cancers, this match often struggles when it comes to daily conversations. These two signs of the zodiac will prioritize sweetness and tenderness together, but they may not be able to make it past their differences!

2. Taurus

Libra and Taurus may find themselves attracted to one another because of their shared planetary ruler, Venus. Pleasure, indulgence, and sensuality will be prominent themes within this match, themes that make the early days of a Taurus-Libra romance special. But these days may be short-lived when we consider Taurus’s stubborn practicality paired with Libra’s accommodating creativity.

Cardinal Libra may attempt to lead fixed Taurus, something that often doesn’t fly for the bull of the zodiac. And Taurus’s earthy nature prioritizes practical, reality-based things over Libra’s abstract and creative needs. While these two signs will get along over a shared bottle of wine as friends, they may run into too many conflicts to stay together as lovers!

3. Pisces

A mutable water sign, Pisces brings tenderness into their match with a Libra. However, the intuition of the final sign of the zodiac may not be fully appreciated by cerebral, philosophical Libra. Leading and following will come more naturally to a Libra-Pisces match, given Pisces’s mutable nature. But there may not be enough to keep these two signs together in the long run.

4. Virgo

Another mutable sign, Virgos run into many of the same issues with Libra as Taurus does. Practical and precise, Virgos may be too nitpicky and rational for occasionally nonsensical Libra. And Libra may not fully appreciate the routine-laden Virgo personality, as all air signs prefer a bit more spontaneity in their lives compared to earth signs!
