This building is the corporate home of the ConocoPhillips company for the Alaska district. ConocoPhillips is known for being in the oil and gasoline business. Given the fact Alaska is home to some of the largest quantities of oil in the United States, it makes sense for ConocoPhillips to own a building in Anchorage.

There is a second building connected to the main building that serves as the local branch for many companies. The other building that would have almost certainly taken the top spot was the Peach Tower. This tower was going to be a combination of a hotel and private residences located in Anchorage. The Peach Tower was going to have a total of 28 floors, which would have put it at the top of the list for tallest buildings more than likely.
