Leopard attacks appear to be on the rise in some parts of India and may be due to human activity encroaching on their territories. This footage was captured by a CCTV camera in a street depot in the city of Hyderabad in Telangana, India. It records the moment when a large leopard gets into a depot and immediately presents a threat to both the humans and the dogs on the premises.

Leopard Scales the Fence and Attacks
Right at the start of the footage, if you look carefully, you can see the two men sliding into the depot through the barriers. From their body language, they already look scared and they may have already spotted the leopard heading their way. They both race around trying to find somewhere safe to hide.
One man gets straight into the truck that already has an open door. The other man decides to try to get into a building – that is his big mistake. He fails to open the door and therefore has to race across the compound to get into the truck as well. The leopard spots him moving and pounces at his legs as he desperately tries to climb into the cab. Luckily, he manages to shake off the big cat which lets go of his ankle.
The leopard now focuses its attention on some garages and tries to climb in but the opening is too high up and it repeatedly falls back to the floor. This is when the dogs turn up!
Dogs Fending off a Leopard
Around six guard dogs surround the leopard and snap at its heels. Every now and then the intruder turns around and lunges at them. The footage ends with the two men cowering in the truck, the dogs have retreated and the leopard is pacing around wondering what it should do next!
Leopards are medium-sized wildcats that live in Asia and Africa. They are very good at climbing trees and often leap down on prey from a height. The leopard would probably be capable of killing a solo dog but chooses to just warn the pack off. This proves that there is safety in numbers!
