When we think of epic animals in the wild, we can’t help but think of the fierce lion who is unafraid to challenge anyone. Or the lightning-fast cheetah that can hunt down any animal. Then, we also think of the unforgiving Nile crocodile that will grab any animal looking for water in the river.

However, we would be reminiscing if we didn’t mention two of the most iconic African animals, the elephant and giraffe. Don’t miss the video below, and then let’s dive into these amazing animals.

Watch the Incredible Video Below!

Giraffe and Elephant Sighting in Kenya

The next YouTube video posted just above this section takes us to Kenya, Africa. A lot of wildlife videos in Africa take place in Kenya or Southern Africa. This video was shared by the Africam YouTube page. This channel captures animals in the wild on the live stream. They share videos of lions, crocodiles, jackals, stenboks, and elephants, to name a few. Africam shares a short description of where this took place below.

“Two elephants take the spotlight at the Ol Donyo waterhole – showing off in front of giraffe and zebra. The wildlife sighting was captured at Ol Danyo Lodge near Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya.”

Giraffe Vs. Elephant

This watering hole in Africa is famous. Wait, who are we kidding…EVERY watering hole is famous among animals because all animals need hydration and the ability to cool off.

And sometimes, we see multiple animals that come to the watering hole at the same time. As we can imagine, all animals don’t get along. And for good reason.

At the start of this video, we see the world’s tallest animal, the giraffe, drinking from this watering hole. He is minding his own business and enjoying a cool drink on this undoubtedly hot day.

Suddenly, two enormous elephants come out of and right up to the same spot this giraffe is at. And we hilariously watch this giraffe quickly leave as if he is saying, “Peace out.” This giraffe isn’t willing to risk the fight over whose spot this is.

Can Giraffe Fight?

When we think of fighting animals it’s not difficult to imagine fierce predators. However, the giraffe probably isn’t one of them. While they may be known for being the tallest in the world, are they known to be able to fight?

The giraffe will use the power of its body, weighing up to 4,200 pounds and reaching up to 20 feet in height. They also use the power of their neck to fight. “6 to 8 foot long, 600-pound neck is most obvious, the giraffe’s entire body is a masterpiece of specialization.”

This giraffe didn’t feel like fighting on this day. He got his drink and moved along his way.
