It is quite beautiful the way that animals stick together. We see various prides, herds, groups, families, pods, and more that form a bond. They become a unit and stick together like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Their bond is often unbreakable, and see great examples of this in the video posted at the bottom of this blog post.

At the start of this YouTube video posted below, we see a group of lions, called a pride, that is lying down. They are resting, most likely on their journey somewhere else, but taking a breather. Up ahead, we see a small group of elephants. This group of elephants is often referred to as a family because of how close they are and the lives they live.

In almost no time at all, we see the lions one by one get up. They are sizing these elephants on to see what these elephants are planning to do. Once they see these elephants are planning to walk right through their pride, they know they need to move out of the way. Around 26 seconds, we see the lions all start to move and leave this area. They know these elephants are too big, and they don’t want to mess with them.

However, what we can’t see is that off to the side, there is a male lion. For some reason, he is refusing to go away. Perhaps he is trying to assert his dominance. After all, he is the king of the jungle, and no one messes with the king of the jungle. Well, maybe a family of elephants.

At 34 seconds, we see the elephants all turn as one unit toward the male lion. And we immediately see him start to move it along. But not before he stops to take a look at the elephants. As if he is saying, “I’m going to move. But not because I have to, but because I want to.” Nonetheless, he moves along, as this is now the territory that elephants are moving through.

How Much Large is an Elephant from a Lion

We all know the lion is the king of the jungle. But how much larger is an elephant than a lion? Well, lions can start with weighing as much as 260 pounds. While male lions are on the larger side of 550 pounds.

Elephants, however, can have a starting weight of 6,500 pounds. While male elephants are on the largest side, weighing up to 12,000 pounds! So, as we can see, these large land mammals far outweigh that of the king of the jungle.
