You don’t have to travel to South Africa to see African grey hornbills and green wood hoopoes in action. From the Netherlands to Texas to Panama, we’ve rounded up some of the best live streams of wild birds on YouTube. Check out these live bird cameras for up-close and amazing views of a variety of birds from around the world.

Hans Nature Channel offers live streaming of the daily activities of over 20 different bird species. You may catch a glimpse of sparrowhawks, Eurasian blue tits, and plenty more. You don’t have to fly all the way to Panama to view wild birds in a tropical rainforest. Just head over to Cornell Lab’s Panama Hummingbird Cam at Canopy Tower, about 35 miles north of Panama City. According to the channel description, you may spot a wide assortment of tropical birds, including blue-chested hummingbirds, white-necked Jacobins, white-vented plumeleteer, violet-bellied hummingbird, and long-billed hermits. In fact, if you love birds, Cornell Lab of Ornithology is an amazing resource for all things birds. Check out their Merlin ID Bird app, which can identify the birds around you just by listening to bird songs recorded on your phone.

They also host a variety of shorebirds, many of whom are there because they have been injured and are unable to survive in the wild. Iris, the great horned owl, is an ambassador owl living at the International Owl Center in Minnesota.

The International Owl Center, located in Houston, MN, is the only all-owl education center in the U.S. The Owl Center rehabilitates and cares for owls that can no longer survive in the wild. Check out what one of their resident great horned owls, Iris, is up to on their live cam. Iris has lived in the center ever since she arrived in 2006 with a damaged right eye. With her injury, Iris would struggle to survive in the wild.
