Some of the biggest college campuses in Portland include the University of Portland, Lewis & Clark College, Portland State University, and Reed College. Looking for fun things to do in Portland isn’t exactly a challenge. You can head to the Lan Su Chinese garden, the International Rose Test Garden, or the Portland Japanese Garden if you want to soak up the botanical beauty of it all. In terms of museums, the Portland Art Museum, Oregon Historical Society, and Portland Puppet Museum are a few options to think about. The Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix Art Museum, and South Mountain Park Preserve are other cool places to check out while you’re there. Stunning views of red and orange mountain ranges are easy to find throughout the area. There’s nothing like indulging in a fun vacation in a city like Palm Springs, California. Anyone looking for an oasis away from busy city life will find what they’re looking for during a weekend getaway in Palm Springs. Start loving it for its gorgeous golf courses, spas, hotels, and hot springs. This is an amazing place to go if you want to dine at nice restaurants and shop at designer boutiques. You’ll definitely have to brace yourself for the hot heat of Palm Springs since it is a desert location. The Palm Springs Air Museum, Moorten Botanical Garden, and Palm Springs Aerial Tramway are just a few fun things to do while you’re there.

The second most populated city in America that starts with the letter P happens to be Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There are currently 1,527,886 residents. Philadelphia is a city to recognize for the rich American history it offers. That history includes some of the most noteworthy historical sites ever. You’ll be able to visit Independence Hall, which is where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were both signed. You’ll also be able to see the Liberty Bell on the display in all of its glory. Talk about an iconic city! This place is also home to the Philadelphia 76ers. This talented basketball team has players like James Harden and Joel Embiid on the lineup.

Palm Coast, Florida

This gorgeous city has 102,569 residents living there as of 2023. One of the best parts about visiting Florida is the access you’ll have to the beach. Floridian beaches typically have warmer and clearer water than beaches you’ll find on the West Coast. Fortunately, Palm Coast offers a handful of beach options for people seeking sun, sound, and surf. Flagler Beach is absolutely divine with tons of shopping and dining options to enjoy in the area. Other things to do in Palm Coast include Florida’s Agricultural Museum, Jungle Hut Road Park, and Princess Place Preserve.

It’s possible that the only time you’ve heard about a city called Pleasantville was in the fictional movie of the same name starring Reese Witherspoon. Pleasantville, New York, is far from fictional, though. You’ll also find cities named Pleasantville in New Jersey and Ohio. The one located in New York has our attention for now. Pleasantville, New York is the place you can go to see many attractions. These include Rockefeller State Park Preserve, Graham Hills Park, and Lyndhurst Mansion. Interestingly, the 2023 population for this city is pretty low compared to other American cities that start with the letter P. There are only 7,238 residents there as of 2023. Even though there aren’t a lot of people residing there, this detail doesn’t take away from how special this New York town truly is.
