One of the best flea markets in the country is the Friendship Flea Market in Indiana. It’s a massive flea market held twice a year in June and September that runs for about nine days. At this flea market, you can discover up to 500 vendors. The first flea market event in the town of Friendship was held in August 1968 and only had 14 booths.

Brimfield Antique Flea Markets
Not all flea markets are the same. Some only offer refurbished items, while others display handmade art. A popular type of flea market is a vintage market, like Brimfield Antique Flea Markets. These markets are often called America’s oldest outdoor antiques flea markets. There are around 21 shows with thousands of vendors. In 2024, the market dates are May, July, and September.

Have you ever heard of the Rose Bowl Flea Market? It’s located in Pasadena, California, and has been active for over 50 years. It’s one of the best in the United States. The Rose Bowl Flea Market is home to over 2,500 vendors and 20,000 buyers each month. A fee is required to enter, and no pets are allowed inside unless they are service animals. The flea market is divided into seven sections.

The Portland Flea runs on the last weekend of each month, from May to November. You can attend this vibrant flea market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This flea market is located in Portland, Oregon, in different areas on Saturdays and Sundays. Elkhorn Antique Flea Market
Another antique flea market makes our list, the Elkhorn Antique Flea Market in Wisconsin. This flea market occurs four times every year. It’s held at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn. The history of this flea market dates back to 1982 when there may have been less than 50 vendors; now there are around 500! In 2024, you can catch this flea market on May 19th, June 30th, August 11th, and September 29th from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mile High Flea Market
The Mile High Flea Market is a treat to visit. This Colorado flea market is open Fridays through Sundays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Not only can you buy incredible crafts, clothes, work accessories, and furniture, but you can also attend lively events. Also, this flea market is a farmer’s market with fresh produce. At any given time, you may see produce like melons, limes, mangoes, corn, peaches, and cacti fruits.

The Original Round Top Antiques Fair
Unsurprisingly, Texas hosts one of the largest and best flea markets in the U.S., the Original Round Top Antiques Fair. This fun Texas show is in the Big Red Barn from March 25 to March 30, 2024. Blue Hills, the sister venue, is open from March 16 to March 30. Although only about 90 people live in the town of Round Top, during flea market events/shows, thousands of people flock to the town. This flea market has grown a lot since its first days in 1968.

127 Yard Sale
The 127 Yard Sale is impressively big. It stretches over multiple states, including Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. Although a 690-mile yard sale, it can also be considered a flea market because of how unique the items are within the event. This yard sale takes place over four days. Driving the route is a lot of fun. While going to this 6-state yard sale, you can stop at Meckley’s Flavor Fruit Farm & Cidery, Sauder Village, and Ruby Falls.
Nashville Fairgrounds Flea Market
Tennessee is also home to one of the largest and most vibrant flea markets in the country, the Nashville Fairgrounds Flea Market. This great shopping space is open on the fourth weekend of every month. Sometimes, the weekends are themed. For instance, during the fourth weekend of February, the theme is Love in the Air, which likely has something to do with Valentine’s Day. During June’s flea market, the theme is Sunshine and Shopping.

Renninger’s Flea Market & Antique Center
Nearing the end of our list of the 13 best flea markets in the U.S. is the Renninger’s Flea Market & Antique Center in Mount Dora, Florida. There is so much to see and explore there, that just a few hours is nothing. The hours and dates vary as within this space are a flea market, farmer’s market, and antique center. While here, you can feast on delicious fresh fruits and coffee. Also within the flea market are embroidered hats, unique art pieces, and vintage lamps.

Raleigh Flea Market
Last but not least is the Raleigh Flea Market in North Carolina. This exciting flea market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The best parts about this flea market are that it’s open regardless of rain and that it’s free! The Raleigh Flea Market is filled with bizarre and retro items. You don’t know what you’ll find when visiting, like large shark teeth, crochet stuffed animals, and wood-carved items.
