November can be the best month of the year if you choose the right location to spend your time. Some places in the United States have mild weather and limited rain and natural disasters during this month, making them some of the states with the best November weather.  

However, other locations seem to get a head start in winter during November, with cold weather and snow activities already beginning. If you want to visit somewhere with favorable weather and good temperatures, here are some of the states with the best November weather: 

1. South Carolina

South Carolina has beautiful fall temperatures, allowing you to comfortably explore without being too hot or cold.

If you go to South Carolina during the fall, you’ll find ideal temperatures for the season. While you can visit any city, one of the best options is Charleston, SC.  

Visiting Charleston, SC, in November will give you a high of 67 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 53. The cool, but not too cold, weather is perfect for exploring the city and enjoying outdoor patios. It’s a great place for history lovers, although there is plenty for everyone to do. 

Some places you won’t want to miss in Charleston are Middleton Place, Joe Riley Waterfront Park, and Fort Sumter National Monument. Middleton Place was a plantation in the 18th and 19th centuries and is a museum on the US National Register for Historic Places. You can learn about slavery at Middleton Place, and then go to Fort Sumter National Monument, where Union and Confederate armies battled during the Civil War.  

Charleston also has cultural tours where you can learn about Southern cuisine on a Charleston Food tour and historic sites on the Architecture Tour. Or, see if you can brave a Charleston Ghost Tour.  

2. Hawaii

While you’re in Hawaii, make sure to visit Secret Beach in Maui.

Temperatures in all of Hawaii are ideal during November, and Maui is one of the places with the best weather, with a high temperature of 81 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 72. There are also minimal rainy days, so you can expect to have favorable weather for your outdoor excursions.  

You’ll experience fewer crowds in Maui during November and get a better financial deal on your trip by going this time of year. When you’re in Maui, make sure to visit the Road to Hana, Kaanapali Beach, and Haleakala National Park. You’ll also want to take in a Maui sunrise at least once, and Haleakala National Park is one of the best spots.  

3. Virginia

Virginia is warm enough that you can visit York River State Park in November without bundling up.

In November, Williamsburg, VA, has an average high temperature of 61 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 45. Plus, fall foliage peaks during this month, providing beautiful scenes and ideal weather.  

The weather is cool enough to bundle up a little, but not too cold that you’ll be uncomfortable. While you’re there, you can visit Historic Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens. In mid-November, you might be able to catch the beginning of the Christmas Town holiday event at Busch Gardens.  

4. California

It’s sunny and warm in California during November, so get outside and explore the city.

Temperatures in California vary based on the city, but it tends to have a high in the mid to low 70s Fahrenheit with a low in the 50s. You won’t have to worry about bundling up to head out in Los Angeles for a walk around town. Plus, you can visit the many area beaches, dine on outdoor patios, and explore many exciting or beautiful spots.  

One of the best places to visit in Los Angeles is the Griffith Observatory, where you can see beautiful views of the city and the famous Hollywood Sign. San Diego is sunniest in November, and you’ll love visiting the beaches when it’s not too hot, although you sometimes might want a jacket.  

While in San Diego, you won’t want to miss the San Diego Zoo, North Park, or Balboa Park. You can also find many breweries if you’re into craft beer. There are also plenty of hiking spots for outdoor adventure, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.  

5. Texas

Texas is one of the states with best November weather because it doesn’t get too hot or cold. The average temperature in San Antonio in November is an average high of 72 degrees and a low of 49. It’s the perfect temperature for being comfortable as you explore the historic Missions or the San Antonio River Walk.  

The River Walk is the most popular tourist attraction in the state. If you go later in the month, you might catch the Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony. Other things you won’t want to miss are the River Walk Public Art Garden, the Natural Bridge Caverns, and the Alamo.  

Another great spot to visit in the fall is Dallas, TX because there is so much to do in the area. The average temperature in Dallas in November is a high of 68 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 47. It’s warm enough to wear shorts and a T-shirt year-round, making it one of the best places to visit when the weather gets cooler in other places. 

While you’re there, you won’t want to miss a visit to the Dallas Museum of Art. It has art collections from around the world dating back 5,000 years. Visitors also love to visit the Dallas Botanical Garden and Reunion Tower.  

Another place to check out is the Dealy Plaza, where the Sixth Floor Museum commemorates the assassination of JFK. There’s also the Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas, where you can visit Food Truck Lane for lunch or dinner. 

6. Arizona

The average high temperature in November in Phoenix is 76 degrees Fahrenheit, with a low of 51. There’s also very little rain, so it’s the perfect weather for relaxing outside and outdoor exploration.  

Arizona is known for Native American history, and you can explore the culture to deepen your understanding. Indulge in authentic food and visit historical landmarks to learn more about it. You can also check out the history of the American Indian civilization if you visit the Heard Museum

You won’t want to miss the Desert Botanical Garden, Dreamy Draw, Camelback Mountain, Japanese Friendship Garden, and the Musical Instrument Museum. Another must-visit location is the Grand Canyon National Park, near Phoenix, AZ, for an unforgettable sight.  

7. Florida

You can find beautiful weather all over Florida, but if you love Disney, Orlando is the place to be in November. You’ll experience weather with an average high temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 58.  

The International Food and Wine Fest is held at Epcot in November, and you might catch the start of their holiday setup depending on when you visit. Check the timeframes for these events before you go if you don’t want to miss them.  

Other places to visit in Orlando include the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens. You can see wildlife and tropical plants, and then you can head to the Everglades to embrace the wonders of the United States. 

8. Georgia

If you visit Savannah, GA, in November, you’ll avoid the humidity that the area is known for in the summer. The average high temperature is 70 degrees in November, with a low of 49. Most of the area attractions require being outdoors, so it’s the best time of year when it’s not too hot or too cold.  

Make sure to visit the Historic District and River Street, Bonaventure Cemetery, and Forsyth Park. You can check out Tybee Island and Fort Pulaski If you want to take walks or relax along the beach. Sunny November days provide the perfect weather for enjoying every minute of exploration and relaxation.
