12. 1670 Broadway

The twelfth-tallest building standing in Denver, Colorado is located at 1670 Broadway. The skyscraper reaches 448 feet into the air and contains 34 stories of residential living. Of course, there’s also a Starbucks on the main level for you to grab a drink as you head to work! This apartment complex neighbors Denver’s business district, so if you’re working downtown, it’s likely that this residence is in close proximity to the office!

11. Block 162

Block 162 is the eleventh-tallest building in Denver, Colorado. It’s located at 675 15th Street in the business district of Denver. It houses 30 stories and reaches 460 feet. While it has fewer stories than 1670 Broadway, it is about twelve feet higher! Block 162 is an office building that boasts modern, efficient, high-quality office space. There’s also a rooftop deck to enjoy! You can overlook Denver as well as the mountains from Block 162’s roof.

10. Spire

Spire is the tenth-tallest building in Denver, Colorado. It contains 41 stories and beats the eleventh-tallest building by a mere 18 feet, reaching 478 feet into the sky. Spire is a condominium complex that contains almost 500 residences! It’s close neighbors with Block 162 and is located on 14th Street, also in the business district of the city. Its great location and walkability make it a phenomenal place to live.

The ninth-tallest building in Denver is also the city’s second-largest hotel. The Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center is 492 feet tall and contains 38 stories of hotel rooms. The hotel has 1,100 rooms, including 60 suites. It’s also on 15th Street in brilliant proximity to the business district and theatre district of Denver. The eighth-tallest building in Denver is 555 17th Street. This centrally located skyscraper contains 40 stories and is 507 feet tall. The building had a few previous names, including the Anaconda Tower and the Qwest Tower. The Anaconda Company’s headquarters was in Denver when the building was first built, and then the Qwest Company’s headquarters was located there. Now, 555 17th Street is a Class A office space with many different tenants. While the building is modern in aesthetics, it was built almost 50 years ago in 1978.

7. 707 17th Street

Neighbors with the eighth-tallest building is the seventh-tallest building in Denver: 707 17th Street. This building is 42 stories and 522 feet tall, just reaching higher than its previous competitor. It was built three years after 555 17th Street and was the tallest building in Denver for a few years before losing its reign to 1801 California Street in 1983. The building was previously known as MCI Plaza, but after the company went bankrupt, the building became a mix of office space and hotel space. Twenty floors of the building make up the Hilton Denver City Center.

6. 1999 Broadway

Reaching a height of 545 feet is the sixth-tallest building in Denver, located at 1999 Broadway. This building contains 43 stories. It was designed by Curtis W. Fentress, and the building has an incredibly unique shape. It was built to wrap slightly around the Holy Ghost Church, and therefore, the building has a curved center. Its construction was completed in 1985 and it has been an office building since its opening.

5. 1144 15th Street

Reaching an astounding 617 feet is the skyscraper located at 1144 15th Street. Completed in 2018, this 40-story office building is the fifth-tallest building in Denver, Colorado. It’s a Class AA office building and one of the largest of its kind in the city. There are over 500,000 square feet of office space within the building, making it a great home to a long list of professional tenants.

4. Four Seasons Hotel & Residences

Just next door to 1144 15th Street is the Four Seasons Hotel Residences, which is the fourth-tallest building in Denver, Colorado. The Four Seasons contains 45 stories and reaches a height of 640 feet. The calculation of height does include the 75-foot spire on top of the roof! This building is home to both hotel rooms (the 21 bottom floors) and residences (the 24 upper floors). The building is in a great spot in town with exceptional walkability.

3. Wells Fargo Center

Reaching a height of 698 feet is the third-tallest building in all of Denver, Colorado: the Wells Fargo Center! This building has 52 stories and it’s so large that it contains its own zip code! The Wells Fargo Center was previously known as the One Norwest Center, but it has a unique nickname due to its architecture. It’s often referred to as “The Cash Register” due to the way the top of the building resembles a till!

2. 1801 California

Finally reaching over 700 feet is the skyscraper located at 1801 California Street. This building reaches 709 feet into the sky and contains 53 stories. It was the tallest building in the city when it was built but only held that spot for a year due to the construction of the Republic Plaza in 1984. The building is the 151st tallest building in all of the United States! The office building is home to a number of different residents and boasts incredible views of the city and mountains.

The tallest building in Denver, Colorado is Republic Plaza, which reaches a height of 714 feet. The building contains 56 stories of what is primarily used for office space. The lobby is three stories tall, however, and is a great spot to look out for art produced by Colorado artists. It’s incredible to consider the elevation of the building above sea level. If you’re standing on the roof, you’re well over 6,000 feet above sea level!

Denver’s skyscrapers may not hold up against the heights of buildings in New York or Chicago, but they are pretty impressive regardless.
