Whenever we hear of animals being harmed in any fashion, our heartbreaks, especially when it is at the hands of humans. When driving on the road, we must be on the lookout for not only human pedestrians but also animals roaming by.

We would add that we need to be even more cautious when we are driving through national parks. Also, on a self-guided tour in a safari or zoo. Those are specifically the territory of the animals that live there. And we must be aware of them carefully.

Grizzly Bear Sighting in Wyoming

On Monday, October 16, 2023, wildlife experts announced that a famous grizzly bear in Wyoming is doing very well after being hit by a vehicle over a week ago. This grizzly bear is popular in Wyoming and is known as Grizzly 610.

This beloved Grizzly 610 was reportedly hit by a vehicle on Monday, October 9, 2023, in Grand Teton National Park. Not only was she struck, it was reported that she laid still for a few hours as though something was majorly wrong with her. However, within a few hours, she was able to get up and walk around.

“She is doing great and acting normal,” said Tristan Moffett of Jackson. He runs Roam Wild Photo Tours in Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks.

Undoubtedly, the strength to get up after such a horrific accident was due to the fact she has three young cubs that are looking for her to take care of them. “So, everything we can see externally is great. Hopefully, all is well internally as well, and there’s no developing issues such as an infection,” Moffett added.

There are additional reports from other news sites that park officials cannot be entirely certain the bear spotted was Grizzly 610 but that they are confident based on injuries to the bear’s face.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department offers their warning that “grizzly bears are often more aggressive than black bears.” It’s best to give them their space should you see one.
