Crocs are beasts of the water. They could leave the human world’s fastest swimmers in their dust with their lightning speed. The Nile Crocodile has a reputation for reaching speeds up to 20mph!

Swimming with grace and precision, they tuck their legs back and use their powerful tail to make wave-like motions that propel them through the water with great force. Nothing is stopping these majestic creatures! And the capybara is ready to take advantage of the free transportation.

This capybara is clearly in for an adrenaline-filled ride! As it glides down the river, it’s hard not to be charmed by the capybara’s bravery. But looks can be deceiving. While you may assume the large rodent is in danger of becoming a fast meal, it’s fairly safe.

Crocodiles and capybaras like spending time together. Or at least there are many photos and videos of the unlikely pair lazing about. And that’s not all. It turns out capybara has a ton of unlikely friends out there.

The internet is rich with photos showing capybaras hanging out with birds, ducklings, kittens, dogs, rats, turtles, etc. Chances are, animals find it easy to get along with capybaras because they ooze coolness. They’re incredibly chill creatures.

While they might not be friends in the traditional sense, crocodiles and capybaras have a couple of things in common. Both creatures love the water and spend a lot of their lives there. Capybaras are classified as semi-aquatic, and they even mate in the water. Both animals also hang out with groups of their species, making them social.

Crocodiles are one of the world’s most social reptiles. A group of crocodiles is called a bask, and basking is what they spend a lot of their time doing. Even though crocodiles are territorial, they’ll form groups when it provides an advantage. They tolerate other crocodiles if it helps them hunt, rest, or protect their young.

Capybaras live in large groups all the time. The group is called a herd, and they spend much time napping. Capybaras love getting their beauty rest and work together to ensure everyone stays safe while they sleep. Certain members of the herd keep watch while the others snooze.

When they’re not napping, capybaras love swimming. And when they don’t want to swim, they catch a free ride on a crocodile.

Peep the video below to see the world’s coolest capybara kickin’ back while they cruise with a crocodile. Take advantage of this one; it’s epic.
