Fremont City is located in the East Bay part of the Bay Area in Alameda County, California. It is very close to the Silicon Valley network of businesses; its tech industry is highly developed. The city hosts multiple city parks and natural areas. As a fact, there are around 55,000 trees in Fremont – a pretty significant number, right?
If you live in Fremont or are just visiting with your dog, you may wonder if any of these parks have designated dog areas or, at least, allow dogs on a leash. If so, you’re right where you need to be!
We have done our homework and chosen the 5 best dog parks in Fremont that your pup will enjoy! Don’t forget to check the dog park rules before visiting the park.
1. Central Park Dog Park
|Central Park Dog Park|
|Location||1740 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538|
|Hours||5 AM – 10 PM|
The Central Park Dog Park is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations in Fremont among dog owners! It is located near the Fremont Animal Shelter and can be accessed from Stevenson Boulevard. The park features two dog areas – the 1.2-acre area is for large dogs over 14 inches tall, while the 0.02-acre area is destined for small pups measuring less than 14 inches tall.
The park is covered in artificial grass, so you can easily visit it after rainfall without worrying about your dog getting dirty. Besides this, there’s a lot of shade, making it perfect for a hot summer day. If you need to rest while waiting for your puppy to lower its energy levels, you can sit on the benches designated for humans. After your pup’s had enough running with other furry mates, both of you can go for a walk around the lake and enjoy a relaxing and peaceful evening.
One thing to consider is that the park usually gets pretty crowded. If your pet is shy or not accustomed to socializing with other dogs, we recommend visiting when it’s less crowded or choosing a less popular park in Fremont.
2. Alameda Creek Regional Trail
|Alameda Creek Regional Trail|
|Location||2250 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA 94536|
|Hours||5 AM – 10 PM|
If you want to reconnect with nature by walking, jogging, or even riding your bike alongside your dog, the Alameda Creek Regional Trail should be at the top of your list! The trail goes along the banks of Alameda Creek from the Niles District of Fremont westward to San Francisco Bay. The total length of the trail is 12 miles. In Fremont, you can access the trail through Isherwood Way.
We’re absolutely sure your dog will thank you for a day spent at Alameda Creek Regional Trail! That’s because it will be able to run freely, off-leash, and have lots of fun! Take some of your pup’s favorite toys, tasty snacks, and a water bottle, and spend an excellent day with your beloved friend!
One thing to consider is that the paved side of the trail is for humans, while the unpaved side is for dogs.
