According to the United States Census Bureau, there were 681,054 residents in Oklahoma City in 2020. Fueled by a strong economy, the city has only grown over the last three years. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce has made projections through the year 2070 based on the population of each county. For the year 2050, these projections envision the population of the entire state reaching just over 4.3 million. Projecting through 2070, the forecast envisions a little over 2 million people in OKC alone. The two primary places in Oklahoma with the highest population are OKC and Tulsa. However, OKC projections far surpass that of Tulsa. In fact, by 2070, it’s forecasted that OKC will house a whopping 43.3% of residents in the entire state!
